i understand that most have the basic God....but with some the rules and translation differ from across th vast land. but wouldn't it be naive to think that "your"" religion is the correct one just because that is what you were raised to believe.

I think it's pretty arrogant for religious people to believe that they are special and that only people of their religion are going to heaven.

It's delusional. Very similar to a schizophrenic person.

We believe it is "right" because we can test it, and we have the ability to read the other doctrines...the tenets of faith of the other religions. Upon comparing the different religious faiths, one stands out as truth. This is the one we believe and put our faith in.

Also, if one is true, then all others "must" be false, because the mandatory beliefs within the "written doctrine" of each individual religion contradicts all the other religious doctrines. If you believe one, you can not believe the others because they deny in whole or in part of the other faith.

Also to be a believer of any religious faith, you must believe it's doctrine...it's written word, because that is how we know what God expects from us.

In one doctrine it says people have to pray 5 times a day and that the only guarantee of heaven is suicide killing, another says there is no heaven, and another says that only by faith in Jesus Christ can one be saved because He died for our sins...and another says that all paths lead to heaven, and another says that Only Jews can be saved, etc etc...then only one can be true if any are.

No religion is the same as any other, and there is only One true God.

I believe in Christ because I know what the major religions
of the world declare and mandate from their believers and I know in my heart, mind and soul they are corrupted and not true.

(F.Y.I. a denomination is not a religion...it is a differing in tradition, i.e. Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, Lutheran, Episcopalian, Methodist...etc)

Look up for yourself what is required to be a Buddhist, a Hindu, a Muslim, a Mormon, an Orthodox Jew...a Jehova's witness, or any other religion you choose to research, and when you understand the mandates...the absolute requirements of each...what must be believed in order to be called a follower of a specific religion...then you will see the extreme differences.

(Addition) Universalism is a faith, and as such is to be taken as truth, meaning that it is the "right way", and the religions that contradict it are "wrong"....this of course contradicts all the religions that mandate that there is only "one" way to heaven...and if any other religion is true, Universalism is false.

There can only be one true path.

Christianity is the only faith where you are saved by the Grace (unmerited favor) of God through faith alone, where we can never earn our salvation by doing enough good deeds, and we do not deserve it, but God gives it to us freely if we believe in Christ, that God gave His only Son Jesus Christ so that "we" could be forgiven and have eternal life. It is all about Love.

Take Care and God Bless you!

I honestly believe that if your educated in your religion then youll see all the sides. Im a baptist but I study the bible with 2 jehovahs witnesses. You can focus on the perticulars of your
religion or you can focus on spreading gods word and being a good person. I dont know that my religion isright but I know that it teaches morals and ideas that I agree with. And if everyone followed the 10 commandments the world would be a much better place. Any religion that is peacuful, and for the good of others I see as a good religion. I guess I see religion as finding what fits you.

Many religions teach that their path is the only valid one.

Many other religions teach that while other paths may be valid, their own form is "better".

It's a common human psychological need to feel that you are right -- even if that means making others wrong.

My own faith -- Universalist -- affirmatively grants that all other religions are valid for those who choose to believe in them -- but such explicit grant of respect to other religions is uncommon. For most others out there, the best you can get is "no comment".

People tend to search for a religion that is the closest to what they believe, or want to believe. The truth is, Don't put your Faith and Trust in Man, Put it in God, and there is only 1 God.

If your only reason for beliving your relgion is the right one is because you grew up believing it, then that doesn't make sense. But all relgions are different. They have different values and defintions of values. They contradict each other. All can't be true if they contradict each other. Unless "God" is evil, then he would let people know about him. He would let people know truthful things about him though his Creation and through some recorded words. God has let huminity know about him through one relgion, so that relgion is the right religion.

Thats the point, if one didnt believe their religion was the "right: one, then it would be their religion.....right?

I am a christian and ultimately believe that all of us who are religious believe in the same God no matter what name we call him by, we just argue over the other details. I dont go around telling people they are going to hell or anything thats not my place.

I can only say that my religion is the one that is "right" for me.

I am a Christian, make no apologies for it, but I'm not judgmental towards others.

Even among the Christian denominations, some feel that they are the only ones who have it right, I do not feel that is true...no one has it all just right.
