If America is so great, what makes it better than any other country?

Everytime I go through the channels and happen to catch him discussing something,it looks like a commercial I've seen before, everytime it's the same song and dance,I can't believe there are still persons out there that listen to him

Look at America's actions and what empires do;

1) Empires forcefully ensure foreign nations employ friendly policies to their own country to exploit political, economically or military bias. (Vietnam, Cambodia, Iraq and countless others living under America's shadow)

2) Empires use any reason to try and effectively police any anti-leader in a similar way to the Gestapo (Bush's guise of decreasing privacy, more watch on the public)

3) Emperor's will let others take all the blame for a policy they stuck to (Why is there no independent inquiry into Bush's fake evidence in regard to the Iraq war?)

4) Emperor's are never held accountable for corruption (Think of Bush's first election, you can smell the corruption all the way across the solar system)

Compare the US system with Imperial Britain or Greece. It is similar. Dont think that democracy cannot be imperialistic since looking at these two empires you can see it can.

What do you think?

Are most liberals behind (or support) the censorship of media?

For example: Banning violent video games, cleaning up "foul language" on radio and TV, and enforcing age restrictions for purchasing explict music.

If not, who is?

The surge is working. Plain and simple.

- Over 4,000 enemy dead since beginning of surge.
- Former Sunni/Shia insurgents are now fighting for America.
- Violence is way way down.
- Civilian deaths are way way down.
- Iraqi's WANT us there more than ever.
- Hearts and minds are being won everyday.

And we are far from finished... Yet the Democrats and Liberals are rooting for America to "loose" in Iraq. Why?
The surge is working and we are going to win this war. So why are the Democrats and Liberals unhappy about this..

Our soldiers are winning every battle, hands down, while our enemies are coming out hands up. SO WHY ARE LIBERLAS AND DEMS NOT HAPPY....?

- Oh well...We've dealt with traitors and cowards throughout our history and like the rest, you will be dealt with as well.

You have a better chance of being killed in an automobile accident.

You have a far better chance from being killed in a household accident than a terror attack.

You have a better chance of dying in a freak accident.

You have about the same chance as being struck by lightening.

Just something to think about?

Obama is complaining that "right wing" evangelists have hijacked their religion.

I guess he would be an expert on that subject. After all, his "former" religion, Islam, has been hijacked by extremists who blow up and kill innocent civilians and has the sympathy and support of most of its congregation in doing so.

His "current" religion, whatever that is, has been hijacked by black racists who have replaced God with Farrakhan, and replaced the word "amen" with "black power."

Israel was given a piece of land by the UK and shortly thereafter and to the surprise of many the tiny placve had what is called the 6 day war - They occupied the other state of Palistine - That was called an ilegal occupation 40 years ago -
Israel is still in full force occupation of that land
Now before the creation of Israel there was a Jewish minority in the land - they all seemed to get along (at least a lot better than they do now ) No they were not arm in arm singing songs but better
Now Israel has done a lot of work on the land - Made mass improvements in a short time. The landscape of the geography is vastly differnet and better than it was
The "war " that the Palistinians lost in less than 6 days - has set the population at each others throats - it has gotten worse and worse
In truth the Palisitians have been horrible negotiators on their own behalf - often fighting battles they can't win and hardening the Israeli stance -at best stupid on the Pal part

I just answered a question (that I think may have been sarcastic) proposing a ban on alcohol. Their defense was that they don't drink, and alcohol kills people.

What does it say about our view of freedoms when people call for banning of things simply because they don't agree or partake with them? I don't understand why ANYONE would ask the government to restrict what a grown adult has the right to do. Don't they do enough of that on their own without our interest and insistance of more frivolous bans?

Is it time to dump the Butcher´s Apron? I´m British, but just don´t feel any affinity to that flag - it´s the flag you waived when you robbed and brutalised and subjugated the unfortunate countries you conquered, remember!

Also, let´s remember the cross is a Christian symbol, and the Union Jack had not one but three crosses in it! Britain´s NOT a Christian society and this is offensive to Muslims!

The English flag is the most offensive, it was used in the Crusades, don´t forget...

I live in Oakland Ca. 60% of students do not graduate. Problems are, lack of parental support, poverty, and over all apathy and lack of funding on the city and admin level.

Where the median property value for a single family home is in the 500k range, it angers me that the schools are so underfunded.

Your message is not congruent,' so leave public property or be arrested.

Apparently, pastors and protesters are being told they will be arrested if they hold banners on public property.. I guess freedom of speech was removed when the Patriot Act was drafted. Even though the Gay and Lesbian parade got permits to prevent protesters.. you cant blame the "liberals" for this one. The ugly reality is, this is now common in America. The RNC had the same power during the elections, setting up "Free Speech Zones".. Our liberties are being taken away, regardless of party affiliation.

Most of those guys want to kill Americans. They are well treated. They get; 3 meals a day, a bed, prayer mats, and medical care all on our expense account. Yet, if we sent the Saudis home, they will be executed.

Was Rushdie granted his knighthood (by Blair's government, the queen has no say in who is to be knighted) in order to antagonise the middle east, particularly Iran? Why was the backlash not considered, at a time when relations with Iran have seldom been more strained? Was it a deliberate sabotage of the nuclear negotiations? Would this also work out to bring public favour against Iran even further, after the Iranian media portray the Queen as "the English hag"?
