thanks to those who responded to my question. However most of the responses I got were stating about getting a car. We have a car...that is not the issue. I for personal reasons am unable to drive or get a drivers license and wanting to know if with these circumstances it would be managable for me to live on base or not.

It has almost been 3 years now. I was in the army for almost 6 months before I decided to leave. I had a serious problem with gambling that was the main reason for leaving. Forget all the excuses though here is my dilemma. It has been 3 YEARS I have done everything from filing taxes every years to repaying a government debt because they paid me for two weeks pay after I left. I have bought a car a house and even been pulled over. I have got TWO speeding tickets one yesterday and I went to jail for being involved in a disorderly conduct scene at a bar during the summer. I called the GI rights hotline about 4 months ago and told them my story and they gave me a number to call to turn myself in. I called the number a sgt picked the phone up and I gave him all my information phone# social security # and my address told him what I did and asked him what he wanted me to do. When he input my social it returned that I was seperated in 2004???? I never got a discharge what is going on??????????

My husband is going to go back to school when he gets back from Iraq and out of the Army in 2009. I know that he can get the GI Bill for 36 months, but he shouldn't need to go to school for that long. So, are we just going to get the monthly checks while he's in school and then forfeit the rest?? Or can we collect the entire GI Bill in some way??

Hi, I had a quick question. Over the summer, I went to basic training on May 23rd and got discharge on August 23rd for Panic Disorder (It was a general under honorable conditions discharge, free from any disciplinary actions). Would I still be considered a veteran. I'm not looking for benefits of any kind, but I was wondering if it qualifies me to apply as an independent student by listing myself as a veteran. Thank you.

According to a NORAD animation video I've watched, it shows two jets escorting Santa. Is this true? If it is, can you show me some evidences?

which type of jet is better and why, a fighter with a pilot and RIO or a fighter with just a pilot. A two seater seems to be regarded as the best eg, F14 tomcat, tornado Gr.4, F15 E

Would it have any real impact on the eventual outcome? Would Germany have won the war on the eastern front or would the Soviet Union still eventually wore the Wehrmacht down- and the same end result?

Thoughts?

I think it's incredibly selfish. Some people say its the most selfless job. Selfless to the country, maybe. But loving your country more than your family? Asking your family to pick up their lives and follow you around? Not happening. My kids WILL have a stable life, they will stay in one place. This irritates him. He says they won't know who he is. I say, his fault for leaving us. How can I make him change his mind? I WILL NOT stand for this. He has a family to think of.

I want to hear the pros and cons of the Navy.

I also want to know if there's a possibility of getting the GI Bill upfront to go to college first and then going into the Navy as an officer.
