Of course it will get wet.
It will almost certainly fire while submerged, but it's not a good idea. Once out of the water it will quickly drain with no harm done. It should be cleaned and oiled at the next opportunity.
Ammunition does NOT need air to function, the oxidizer is a component of the powder. It is airtight if properly manufactured and will NOT get wet inside.

It'll get wet, but as long as it's submerged for only a short amount of time it'll be fine......prolonged time in the water however (say 45 minutes plus) and you risk the water finding it's way into the internals of the bullet, though if the bullet has been properly manufactured it shouldn't do.
Bullets do not need oxygen to work so you should find the gun able to fire underwater, however thats NOT recommended.

If the gun is well maintained (ie, well oiled), the water will run off when the gun leaves the water. The gun will still operate. You could even fire it underwater if you wanted to. If you didn't have to immediately use the weapon, I'd recommend drying it carefully and re-oiling it, but in a pinch it will operate just fine.

It is a common misconception that a wet weapon will not fire. This is completely false.
This was true before fully cased rounds started being used.
But with todays advances in weapons and ammunition, almost any gun can be fired when wet, and some can even be fired while under water.
Do you think the fight stops when it rains because our weapons wont work?

You can't fire any weapon under water. The ammo needs oxygen to combust and underwater there is no oxygen. Eventually the water will reach the ammo's insides and it will be worthless even if it dried! Anyone that says you can fire a weapon under water knows nothing about weapons!

Umm you would probably have to ask Jack? But seriously I don't know, those types of guns would probably be up to date and get every upgrade possible so I would have to say that if you gave it like 2 min to dry it would still fire?

Probably it'll cook up and the interior will be jammed with water making it unable to fire.
