I was in AF basic during Christmas '01 and our TI did NOT let us call home on Christmas. She said we didn't deserve it.
But then again she was bitter and going through a divorce. I have a feeling we were treated as badly as we were due to that...so you'll probably have a better expeirence.

Yes, in almost all cases the will. The Air Force is a great way to earn a living. Don't listen to that David S., his is just a moron trying to give out false information

I don't see why they wouldn't, unless someone really screws up. Even Marine Corps recruits get four hours off on Christmas.
When I was in Army basic, we didn't get a phone call on Thanksgiving, but that was specifically because someone did something retardedly stupid and didn't come clean until after the punishment was over.

In the army now i know you get 2 weeks off at Xmas..unless you opt not to, but even then you're not really doing a whole lot besides sitting in some holdover unit til everyone else gets back..
I'd assume it was the same for the airforce.. if they dont get more time off...

I was.
'Course that was awhile back, but given that the AF has become a "kinder, gentler" force, I'm sure that privelege hasn't changed...Shoot, it could be a "right" by now!!

I was in during Mothers Day. It was our turn to use the phones and we earned it. They didn't let us call home(not that I had one) and never made it up to us. They made us buy candy and pay to watch a ripped copy of a movie. Boy I considered calling the number scrolling acrossed the screen when I got the chance. Don't go in man.
