I want to enlist under 18xray a infantry man with a sf tryout sums it up the best. my main question is if I want this can I do it and can I choose to start out as a weapons if I want, I would also enjoy an engineer or inteligence seargeant but need exp b4 I can do that occupation. I wanted to be a weapons expert, but do not want to just fix them I want to use them, not murder but combat. there is no other way of putting it "I want to fight alongside the army special forces as one of them, I want to be a weapons" also does can I choose what i want to crosstrain in, for example if I want to cross train as both a engineer and intelligence seargeant while being a weapons to begin with?

Firstly, we have a president and country who has dismantled all structures of power in areas of military, law enforcement, and the economy, who are now saying that the 'Iraqi's arent stepping up to the plate' to maintain their own security - open your idiot eyes! Everyone who steps up is getting blown up.

Secondly it is clear that the Bush administration and his supporters in the future will allege, post withdrawal/'change of direction' that we would have won if we were given a chance. Bear in mind these fools also have a tendency to believe that the Vietnam War was a great idea, and that we either won or could have won if we 'stayed the course"!!!!!!!!!!. Good luck. This is insanity.

Reality matters.

Your comments would be appreciated.

Another question. Where is the UN? Do they still exist? Do they have any intention whatsoever of stepping in?

What this thing needs, and what it needed from the start was a force that could not be seen as a US invasion. Obvious mistake.

I have been conflicted over enlistment, not about the war for personal reasons. religon, friends, my normal life. I look forward to being a soldier. the career i want is in the service, I want to be a weapons seargeant "18 bravo, weapons" whatever u want to call it that is my dream job. I have always had a fascination with the military, firearms, patitisom. these things are everday for me but just cant seem to make up my mind about one thing....is killing for any purpose okay? as a human Iam not always going to agree with everything I do but as a soldier I will do my assigned duty. every since I was young I wanted to be a weapons specialist and infantry soldier but also wanted to be trained in demolitions and inteligence gathering. as well as trained in gureilla warfare. My demon is everything I want in a career has to do with killing people, bad people but people none the less. "is it right to kill another person, can killing one to save a thousand exempt ur soul from the pain

mean why would or what makes you want to go through bootcamp or to be critcized by your supeor officers ,and how do you stand the mental abuse of taking orders? I support the troops no matter what ,but these questions I've always wondered about ,and another question is how do you keep from knocking the soup out of or screaming back at the drill segent ,and how do you stand the years that you signed on for with from going crazy or running away from the militay? I mean I know you would go to prison if you ran ,but these are the questions I was curious about. And how do you leave your family? I am very close to my family and it would kill me to leave them. I was just wanting to know.

My fiance and I are getting married when he graduates basic training. My question is when he gets through AIT and actually gets stationed somewhere, like on a base am I allowed to move with him? I'd love to ask him but he gets like 4 minute phone calls so there isn't much room to discuss it. Also, will us getting married affect him in anyway?

I asked him if I can join the Navy and still attend college at the same time. He said yes, there are classes on each ship with a professor and such and that I get it for free AND will get credit for it...I'm a bit suspicious. Is this for real?

Can we please just support our President? I don't necessarily agree with the things our President does, but until he's out of office, he is our leader. We can support him, or bring him down.

We've got the greatest military might in the world. We won't lose wars based on strength--we lose only because of politics at home, and guess what--it's people that influence politics.
Let's support our President, because I guarantee no terrorists are.

My friend wants to find a couple of men he knew in basic training at Fort Gordon GA back in 1967-8.

Their names are Howard Kotman and John Vermillion.

Any ideas on how to track them down?
