How many American lives are worth letting Al Qaeda succeed in Iraq? If they do, we're screwed. Am I pleased with the current situation? Hell, no - but I honestly don't see any viable alternatives.

To keep them Al Quaeda from taking and bombing us again I would say as many as it takes. But to the idea of killing every Iraqi just because of who they are no. It should be 1 to 1. For every soldier their is one Iraqi.

One Iraqi is as irreplaceable to their parents or children as would be the life of an American soldier to his family. There isn't any way to evaluate dispassionately the value of any human life, but to suggest that it's 1,000 to 1 is the height of arrogance.
