The Japanese and Germans each comitted horrible atrocities during the WWII period. The German government,and most of the German people, since the war have fessed up and apologized for those deeds. The Japanese Government has never acknowledged their atrocities and refused to apologize. If you talk to people in Japan they know very little of what ocurred and act as though it was strictly the fault of the armed forces. The Japan TV network 'NHK' which is much like our History channel has done a few stories on the atrocities but not nearly enough. The Japanese schools don't teach anything about WWII which would reflect poorly on Japan. That is why the young Japanese are totally unaware of what their Government did. The Rape of Nanking was only one small incident. Far worse was the germ warfare factory they ran in Manchuria. They infected people then dissected them, while they were still alive, to see how the germ agents affected them. They wiped out entire towns learning the best way to design and use bombs containing deadly bacillus.

I read the book. Evil is evil. I saw a film of Nazi's hitting kids in their heads repeatedly over time to see how they functioned after each blow- pure horror. I saw a film where Nazi's broke kid's bones to see how many times they could do it before they quit healing.

That is comparing apples and oranges, thay both commited atrocities, but in different ways. The Nazis slaughtered 6 million jews while the Japs killed chinese and thousands more.

Yes they were. The mortality of prisoners in German pow camps was 3%, the mortality of prisoners in Japanese pow camps was 33%.

NO, rape, lynch, murder. it all happens in times of war. human nature, if you have power over people any one, even you will do it.
US soldires in france, and after war in japan have raped many japanese women, but people in US do not know, because its never mentioned in here, and it was not told, because allies win the war and just covered it. Soviets raped and killed many germans after the war, and there were no virgin girls in germany after the war. US made consentration camp puttiong japanese in west cost, and forced to sell their property, and stole all of them, but does US have that right??? i do not think so.
if i talk about the civil war, when federal government won, union soldiers occpied the confederate south, and took every proporty that southerners had, and raped girls every where they whent.
it is not that any one was worse or any, its just that it happend in any where. it just happen when people have too much power over others.

people of most nations have behaved badly at some point. japan was just one.
