I read the book Keeping the Faith when I first started dating my boyfriend(he had just gotten out of the USMC at the time). The book helped to to understand what it means to be a Marine, which was helpfull because I haven't had much experiance with the military at all! Now he has re-enlisted and I want to read some more books that will better educate me on what to expect or what he will be going through, so I can understand what he's talking about! Any ideas? **Thank You**

This is, in many ways a completely ficticious question. I just want to see how close-minded people can be, how easily people change the question in their minds, or maybe just how good of an answer I can get. Best answer will come down to a vote.

Pro Iraq War People:

What if tomorrow, the US pulled out of Iraq and one week later Iraq somehow had a stable government and it turned out that pulling out was the right choice. What would you think/do about the democrats and your past insults and such? Appologize, etc?? Or what?

Anti Iraq War People:

What if Bush's plan to increase the troop levels and new plans for Iraq fixed it completely and turned out to be the right thing. Would you appologize for insults at his views on additional troops and such? What would you do?

Thanks in advance. Try to keep this clean. :-)

One Brit wag penned,"The only trouble with Yanks is that they are overbearing, over paid, over-sexed and over here".
That surely wasn't the general opinion, was it?

Feb 21st at 9am in El Paso, TX there is going to be a memorial for (now) 7 fallen soldiers from the 4-1 CAV from Ft. Bliss. I was just informed that a radical group, known as the Westboro Baptist Church, is going to show up and protest. Not against peace, but in celebration of the death of our soldiers!

Message from group: "These six soldiers were slain by God Almighty, the Man of War, for enlisting and serving in a f*g army in a f*g nation. This is the message, you simpletons: fight for a doomed nation, and you will suffer the consequences! These six died as an example for you, that should afterward live ungodly and who would have none of God's reproof. america is doomed."

WHAT AN OUTRAGE not to mention a horrible display of disrespect those men who fought so they have the freedom to do this.

willing to level their cities like we did to the Germans and Japanese during World War II? I think we could win the war in three months if we were willing to do that. Now, don't misunderstand. I am not suggesting that we do that, but I wonder why we do not do that if we really want to win that war. Give me you thoughts. Please no "Bush hating" answers. Just common sense answers about why we are not willing to really go all out to win this war.

The charge against Colonel Mendonca was thrown out of court yesterday - with two other soldiers yet to receive verdicts. The family of Baha Mousa, however still await justice of their own - they were close to it when Corporal Donald Payne - as the court heard continuously banged Mousa's against the wall as well as kicking him in the ribs, with Payne's colleagues watching...and the other detainees hearing him crying that he didn't support Saddam. Payne was acquitted of the manslaughter. We're told the authorities (id est; the government) were prepared to sacrifice innocent soldiers in the name of political correctness. How can that be...as one soldier, and his group of colleagues used their 'fear of terrorist actions' to assist in the death of Mr. Mousa laughing all the way to the pub after a day out in court, and a colonel being made to be dragged through the same courts in order to make the government look good. And the Mousa family, etc - who will speak up for them?

Playing Call of Duty with my kids has left me more overwhelmed and appalled by the horror of war than ever.

The game has interesting quotes about war, and this about Civil Wars is by Francois Fenelon. What do you think?

By the way, in looking him up, I see he also said this:

There is a set of religious, or rather moral, writings which teach that virtue is the certain road to happiness, and vice to misery in this world. A very wholesome and comfortable doctrine, and to which we have but one objection, namely, that it is not true.
