i work in a post office how would i detect it and what harm does it do im begginning to get worried with all these letter bombs lately .

i would tell my supervisor yes as advised but wondered if once touching it it would be too late.. and no i dont open packages lol which is a good point !!

Sadly, I don't think there is anything to notice anthrax, links below, but packages we are just told to look for anything sucpicous. That means, I think, unusual look, or unique to every other package in some way.
I doubt the Police or bomb people would mind if you were just concerned, but, there should be a risk Assesment plan in your work place, or an emergency plan for these eventualities, is there?

What country do you live in?

If you lived in USA you could ask your supervisor, other than that google anthrax. It hasn't been a problem here since the 1950s. I've only read of one 'letter bomb' in recent years. You don't open people's packages, do you?

If it is "Weapons Grade" Anthrax you would be dead before they got you to the hospital...trouble breathing...choking...caughing up blood...then total respiratory shut down....the Anthrax that was sent out after 9/11 was not "Weapons Grade", it was something someone cooked up...if it had been "Weapons Grade" many more people would have died a lot quicker....

it is bacillus anthrasis it is a bacterial disease
detected by blood analysis
it cause sudden death by severe bleeding
it can remain in the soil for years

I wouldn't worry about if i were you!.. you'll get yourself in such a state that you make yourself ill..
