We won in Iraq already. There is a democratically elected government there. That is a major victory. We are at a point now where we have a peace problem.

We have made great strides. But in the end, we will not win this war, only the people in Iraq can win this war. We can assist them, by first not trying to cure the symptoms. We waged war on terrorism after 9-11 and now we are trying to do peacekeeping by a show of force. By organizing the local law enforcement and moving our troops outside of the cities and onto the borders to keep more terrorist weapons from coming in would be the first step. Better organization of the troops and technology would reduce the amount needed to accomplish this. Once they can secure their citiess and develop their own army, they can take over doing this. If we were to leave them like they are, the government there would likely fall and other countries would have indirect control of the second largest oil producing country. Second, the American people need to educate themselves and stop buying oil and gas from companies that purchase their product from countries that support terrorists and only show contempt toward the US. We need an Independent in office that is not influenced or will gain anything financially from this war. To win, the Iraqi people need to be able to secure their own borders and establish themselves as a self-sufficient country.

Yes if we keep the new media out. Let the boys go in and do their jobs without a camera in thier face questioning every move they make.
