Playing Call of Duty with my kids has left me more overwhelmed and appalled by the horror of war than ever.

The game has interesting quotes about war, and this about Civil Wars is by Francois Fenelon. What do you think?

By the way, in looking him up, I see he also said this:

There is a set of religious, or rather moral, writings which teach that virtue is the certain road to happiness, and vice to misery in this world. A very wholesome and comfortable doctrine, and to which we have but one objection, namely, that it is not true.

The term "civil war" is used to describe a war between populations within one country, region, or culture. It isn't used in a way for it to be taken as literal.

All men were not created equal in the eyes of men, if they were then we most likely wouldn't go to war. Because of this we fight for the right to live the way we want to. It sounds self righteous and it is. It's just the way the people of the world are. Until everybody can understand that we are all brothers will we be able to achieve this end.

If all men are brothers then that means your father married his brother's daughter, which would make you your mother's uncle and you your own grand-nephew...

Of course, if your mother had brothers, that would mean that you are their brother and thus, you are your own mother's brother...

Ewww!
