Hello-
I was just wondering if anyone has gone though basic training with a kind of bad knee, and how hard it was. It's nothing I can't handle, it just kind of aches sometimes. It doesn't really stop me from doing anything. As long as I'm determined and don't give up should I be fine? It's kind of stressing me out right now because I've worked really hard to be able to enlist. I've always played a ton of sports, which is why I have the knee problem, it wasn't from a traumatic injury or anything like that. Thanks for the input!!!

I've seen several movies about WWII in the Pacific lately. But to me, the service who did the most to win the war in the Pacific was the American Submarine Service.

U.S. submarines sank almost all of Japan's freighters and about half their war ships. It was because of the submarine service that Japan couldn't get raw materials to replace the carriers and planes they lost at Midway and other battles throughout the war.

It's known that U.S. submarines sank several troop and supply ships which were being sent to re-inforce Guadacanal, Iwo Jima and Saipan and if these ships had gotten through these battles may have turned out very differently.

It was because of the US submarine service that Japan couldn't get more airplanes to the Phillipines and with more air power the battle at Leyte Gulf could have turned out differently.

Do you think the U.S. submarine service gets the recognition it deserves in modern movies and books about WWII in the Pacific?

Lighthouse verses Boat quite funny lol!?
The lighthouse station called Arctowski is probably the most southerly lighthouse in the world. Built at the Polish research station in Antarctica named after Henryk Arctowski, the famous 19th century Polish geographer and Antarctic explorer. Situated on King George Island in the South Shetlands group, its geographical position is 62o10'S, 58o28'W.
The following is the transcript of the actual radio conversation of a US naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland:

Canadians: Please divert your course 15 degrees the South to avoid a collision.

Americans: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees the North to avoid a collision.

Canadians: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.

Americans: This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.

Canadians: No. I say again, you divert YOUR course.

Americans: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS LINCOLN, THE SECOND LARGEST SHIP IN THE UNITED STATES' ATLANTIC FLEET. WE ARE ACCOMPANIED BY THREE DESTROYERS, THREE CRUISERS AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS. I DEMAND THAT YOU CHANGE YOUR COURSE 15 DEGREES NORTH, I SAY AGAIN, THAT'S ONE FIVE DEGREES NORTH, OR COUNTER-MEASURES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP.

Canadians: This is a lighthouse, over...

this issue is non-negotiable,I challenge if any american can open his or her mouth and to speak about it nor to point a finger at the Evil-State of Israel,I think as an american we need and eager to see 10 of Hamas and another 10 of Hizb-Allah and at least another on of Iran so they send this bloody state to hell.

I just saw on the net, how devastating a nuclear bomb exploded, 1000x more powerful than atomic bomb. Why did they invented such things that will endangered human lives? Why did they develop it knowing it wil be used in the wrong way?

Hypothetically...
What would you do if you discovered something worse than nuclear war? Like a new biological weapon? Or worse, something that could destroy the planet, solar system, galaxy, etc. Try to be concise. (short, direct answers, action taken, not opinion)

Are they not both private militias?
Is it legal for America to have a military service that is not part of the US armed services?
If a private soldier retires, does he get a US army pension?

there is an argument between 2 countries. . or an atttack is made. how is it decided to arm people and start shoutting. how is it decided where to do it/ I know congress declares war. and soldiers are then sent by air and ship and they land in a foreign country. so is the other side just waiting for them at a certain spot? do they just start shoutting people they see at the coast and landing strip? I cant even imagine how it gets going

Why do people go? i cant get that idea either. to go shoot people and be shot at over something we dont have forced service anymore

I know that this is a car. Take your mind off of that for a minute. I saw this word on a new medical building here in San Antonio. We are home to the Brook Army Medical Canter, considered the best burn unit in the country. They are building a new center and it is "DEDICATED TO THE INTREPID SOLDIERS". I am unclear as to what this means.

Bush is getting everything he wants. Wow, those Democrats really put a stop on Bush didn't they? Freaking traitors. As I've been saying, a third party is our only chance of NOT having to fight everyone in the Middle East. This is ridiculous. And if you disagree, then you aren't paying very much attention.

Comments from intelligent people are welcome. I would like to hear about solutions that don't involve my sons going to the middle east to fight a pseudo holy war.

Why would people support war when they already know that fatalities can occur? If they don't support war, then fatalities would be eliminated and no money excessively spent, right?

I don't see why our current U.S. president would send an additional 25,000 troops to Iraq. And the results will occur with even more deaths.

Which Special Forces unit would you want to rescue you. Who if there name was mentioned would install the most relief in you. Who do you think would give you the best chance of survival?

For me its the SAS every time. I would know i was getting out alive and something really bad was about to happen to the kidnappers.
