WHAT NATION?

2007-01-30 17:52:09 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Any countrymen/women can be loyal to the nation by interacting within the laws of the land, by voting, by taking part in the freedoms given to us, not only by the Constitution, but by the hand of God. We can be loyal by speaking out if we feel that a political policy is wrong. We can be loyal by serving on a jury. We can be loyal to be involved as a soccer mom or dad, to tutor a child, give to a charity, by serving in the military, and by being a responsible citizen through our jobs & by being respectful of different cultures, races, religions, creeds & by observing the "Golden Rule". We also should take advantage of all our rights and freedoms, to try to right the wrongs, pay our taxes, & keep our children safe from harm.

Use your freedom any time you can.

Protest anything that goes against liberty.

Disagree with the government vocally and openly when you do disagree.

Vote.

Pay your taxes, don't try to squeeze every last penny off your taxes...taxes support our troops!

Be a good citizen, and follow all the laws, unless a law is destructive of the nation's liberty.

Own firearms if it is safe for you to do so, and you can actually shoot.

Be neighborly, and a good friend to all you come in contact to.

Be an individual.

Don't abuse government resources.

Hold a steady job that actually contributes to the economy.

Don't shirk jury duty.

Give to the needy when you can.

Buy american made products whenever you can.

Serve in the military.

Stay healthy and fit.

Have children only if you can raise them right.

Help the police if they need help.

Report major crimes.

Never sell secrets to anyone, or give anyone information that could damage the nation in general, unless it is the right thing to do morally, and to withhold that information would go against freedom and justice.

Very good and interesting question indeed.

The question though is much bigger than what it appears. There aren't different methods to be loyal for different citizens of different countries. Its same from every body. As it can be best derived from what Subhash chander Bose said 'Dot think what your country has done for you ,always think what have u done for your country.'

You have to be loyal to yourself, to others then only u can be loyal to ur country. Countries are made by countrymen, by people who live in it. You have to be loyal to everybody around u then only u can be loyal to ur country. Whosoever u are a student, service men, business men, worker, whatever profession u might have, whatever religion u belong to, whatever things samll or big u do u have to do it with loyalty, honesty. You dot have to be in army or any such profession to prove ur loyalty towards ur country.
Also, it does not have to be that you pay all taxes and always are up for your country whenever there is a speech competition that makes u loyal but also respecting other's feeling religion wise region wise that counts. Not exploiting the ones who work under you or are from different section of society respecting there sentiments also counts. If we are parents giving our children the right direction, telling them the right things is what that counts.

another big thing from my point of view is not to crib for the lack of opportunities or in case you are not able to get what u want is what it takes to be loyal to your country. You need to understand that its not the country that is responsible for this condition rather its us who are responsible. We need to have a point of view which sees and convert problems into challenging opportunities so that what we have to face today our other fellow country men don't have to. We need to remember the face of every country is exactly the way its country men make it.

I will wrap my discussion at last by concluding that to be loyal to our country we don't have to won wars for it and give ur life no thats not necessary but to be honest in our day to day to life , by being loyal in whatever small big things we do . To have that urge to make a better tomorrow not for ourselves but for our country as a whole is what it counts to be LOYAL towards your country in the true sense of words

With all my devotion to the Union and the feeling of loyalty and duty of an American citizen, I have not been able to make up my mind to raise my hand against my relatives, my children, my home. I have therefore resigned my commission in the Army, and serve in defense of my native State, with the sincere hope that my poor services may never be needed. I hope I may never be called on to draw my sword.
