If only this whole mess were simpler. So here we are, stuck in Iraq and not negotiating with Iran and Iran is getting most of its money by selling oil to China. Now China is our number one supplier of sneakers, flat screen televisions, cell phones, pretty much everything that you buy at your local big box retailer. The Chinese have already dropped some subtle hints that they really don't want their supply of oil disturbed, and would take that as a provocation. So the reality is that even though our politicians must pound their chests to show resolve, we really can't go there. An invasion of Iran would lead to an upsetting of the global economy because of the oil factor, and nobody is really in favor of such a thing.

We arent OFFICIALY/TECHNICALLY with war with anyone now.. not even Iraq.. there was no formal technical declaration of war..
War has technically been meaningless since WWII
At present its an all volunteer military.. wanna keep the kids out of it tell em DONT SIGN UP.. easy enuff for now.. until when and if they re-instate the draft.. and if that happens move to a neutral country (how bad you wanna keep em alive and how bad do they wanna stay that way?)
Iran.. well it was on the initial list.. Iraq was just the easiest.. it could happen tomorrow.. or years or not at all... But It wont be a war.. it will be an undeclaired police action.. just like Korea or Nam.. now if that counts as war.. well we went to WAR yesretday when GW declared it was hunt ,destroy, kill iranian (specifically Iranian in fact )Operatives in Iraq... was formally authorised by the commander in chief...
its ya'lls war/ police action.. i wouldnt go unless ya paid me BIG bucks and even then i wouldnt go as military.. Civialian consultant maybe... how much $$$ ya got I have a price.. everyone does... (i dont take orders well.. and I've even been USRA enlisted before.. and spent most of my life working for DoD up until retirement at age 37 as a civilian Army, Navy & USMC) Truthfully? This action was idiocy.. I said it before it happend (and i have witnesses) and i'll say it again..
Personally? i dont really give a rats *** whos in charge.. i can live under Chineese rule , Islamic law, or pure democracy (Oh an the USA is a republic people.. its not a DEMOCRACY I dont care what the 30 second sound bytes on the news tell ya) I dont care.. I can, have, and will adapt to any concept you come up with.. and it dosent really matter to me.. I can do as well under any of em as I do now.. To me all government is inherantly EVIL.. I do what I do, and I know how to do it...

It appears as if Saudi Arabia may be putting the squeeze on Iran for us. They are flooding the oil market to force the price down, damaging Iran's economy. If Iran has financial problems it will make it more difficulty for them to pursue their nukes. Just hold your horses and see what happens.

Iran should first be pressured by the UN to stop its nuclear arms build-up before any drastic action is taken against it.

I agree with every thing that Vinny said until the end. Not that what he says does not make sense. I just don't see anyone reining in either of these blowhard "leaders".

Don't take advantage of the armed services benefits and keep yours sons at home. And let McDonald's teach them their jobs skills.
I'm sure your kids will face the challenges of live without the trail of leadership or the love of country.

I hate to come along and burst your bubble. We've been at war with Iran since 1978 when they invaded our embassy and took our diplomats hostage.

Iran is a country with an openly stated national policy of "DEATH TO AMERICA" and they're building nuclear weapons. Perhaps before you tell other people they're not paying attention.. you might want to pay a bit of attention yourself.
