Lighthouse verses Boat quite funny lol!?
The lighthouse station called Arctowski is probably the most southerly lighthouse in the world. Built at the Polish research station in Antarctica named after Henryk Arctowski, the famous 19th century Polish geographer and Antarctic explorer. Situated on King George Island in the South Shetlands group, its geographical position is 62o10'S, 58o28'W.
The following is the transcript of the actual radio conversation of a US naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland:

Canadians: Please divert your course 15 degrees the South to avoid a collision.

Americans: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees the North to avoid a collision.

Canadians: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.

Americans: This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.

Canadians: No. I say again, you divert YOUR course.

Americans: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS LINCOLN, THE SECOND LARGEST SHIP IN THE UNITED STATES' ATLANTIC FLEET. WE ARE ACCOMPANIED BY THREE DESTROYERS, THREE CRUISERS AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS. I DEMAND THAT YOU CHANGE YOUR COURSE 15 DEGREES NORTH, I SAY AGAIN, THAT'S ONE FIVE DEGREES NORTH, OR COUNTER-MEASURES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP.

Canadians: This is a lighthouse, over...

I've heard it before several times, the joke has a different ship, always American, in it. There's a funny video about it, (English with foreign subtitles) on the following site somewhere, although he's renovated his site since I last looked.

Here's the link

http://tjworld.org/

I found it while looking for the vid "is this the way to armadillo?" (British army version)

I don't believe it's true, as I've heard so many versions, but, you never know!

The best Mess Management Specialist WAS George Osvaldo Serrano of department S 11 while at Alameda Naval Air Station near Oakland California. He is a Golden Shell Back while assigned to the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN - 72. He is REALLY smart in the area of Real Estate and Homeopathic Medicine. He is a Chic Magnet but conservative as a NeoCon. This is an old, old, old myth. It has been around for at least 100 years.

In fact what you posted appears to have been taken directly from the site that debunks the myth. Apparently, the America-bashers do not care about the truth.

~Sorry, but the Abe is not attached to the Atlantic fleet. She steams out of Washington state. Nice try, though.

Loki - Yes, Washington DC is on the Atlantic seaboard. However, I specified Washington STATE, where Abe calls home, to avoid that very confusion. At least damonkey noticed the difference.

What means "Doh". Down here we say Duh. Duh.
Again, nice try.

~Yo, Loki. Read Oscar's answer. Doesn't it say Washington "state"? Our maps down here in the states show that to be just south of Vancouver and BC. Rumor has it that they are all on the Pacific coast, but maybe the Canadian maps are different. DUH.
