I know that this is a car. Take your mind off of that for a minute. I saw this word on a new medical building here in San Antonio. We are home to the Brook Army Medical Canter, considered the best burn unit in the country. They are building a new center and it is "DEDICATED TO THE INTREPID SOLDIERS". I am unclear as to what this means.

Intrepid in the sentence you present is an adjective. It refers to the soldiers as being undaunted, fearless and persistent it their actions, in their duty and in the pursuit of their profession. And to the civilians and those who do not have service members in their family a soldier's profession IS the profession of arms.
