Dear all,
I watched three years ago the movie "Black Hawk down" by Ridley Scott. I was very shocked by all real aspects of the movie which described the difficulties of US army (18 marines killed), during one day operations against Aidid rioters.
Do you think that mission was a failure?
Help me understand. I didn't find so many sources in the net for that hystorical event.
Thanks to your support American friends.

Troop surge will affect Guard...........
AN INCREASE IN U.S. FORCES COULD REQUIRE REVERSAL OF PENTAGON POLICY....
By E. Barnes
WASHINGTON - Top U.S. military officials, expecting President Bush to order an illegal increase in the size of the force in Iraq, have concluded that such a buildup would require them to reverse Pentagon policy and send the Army's National Guard and reserve units on lengthy second tours in Iraq, defense officials said Monday.

Under Pentagon policy, Guard and reserve units have been limited to 24 months of mobilization for the Iraq war. Under that rule, most reserve units already sent to Iraq are ineligible to return. But that will change.

But the Joint Chiefs of Staff have concluded that a significant buildup would require the Pentagon to overturn the policy and send Guard and reserve units for additional yearlong tours. No doubt many troops will cry.

Such an order probably would be controversial among state governors.

Just curious.... I was talking to a friend about joining the Army then some guy from the Navy broke up are conversation and told me not to screw up my life and join the Navy.

I don't know they both seem to have the same benifits. But atleast in the Army you get to go off base and visit your friends. In the navy you could be stationed on a ship.

The Japanese slaughtered millions, the Nazi's about the same. Take a look at the History in Africa and see the millions and millions that have died or maybe the Balkan Countries and their Ethnic cleansing. Go back to the Arabs in the middle ages and you will find the same thing taking place. Even in this country the same things have happened with the Indians, who at one time were the only people in the North Americas. When are you people going to learn......This is part of LIFE on this Planet!! President Bush didn't make it like this!! STUPID people have!!
The problem is, we need to be able and willing to protect the freedom of all people, especially our own or don't you rememebr 911?? Incidently, do you remember the Sarin gas attacks made by Saddam??? On his own people?!? What do think a WMD is?? Let's learn to protect ourselves and take care of each other, like the Brothers and Sisters we should be.

Her son, while tragically killed in Iraq, was doing what he believed to be his duty. She is a lonely housewife caught up in her little world of "Pity Me". I do not believe her son, a real american hero, would approve or agree with some of the crap she has been pulling in his name. Put her back in the kitchen and give her a broom and tell her to shut her rambling mouth.
