So Nightman,
Let me get this straight...
You are upset that we attacked Al Qaida?
We found a terrorist hideout and blew it away.
You are siding with Al Qaida.
You are siding with the terrorists who commited 9/11
Sucks to be you

So, you’re a member of al Qaeda and allied to the Somalian Islamic Courts Union and life is pretty good - you’ve got the AK’s, you’ve got the will to use them and everybody trembles when you walk by. You’re all ready to drag these poor benighted Africans back to the 7th century, where guys like you get to decide on a whim who lives and who dies, and best of all you can blame it all on God’s will, because he’s on your side.
But then the Ethiopian infidels you’ve been threatening with jihad get tired of that schtick, or else take you at your word and intervene on the behalf of your enemies, the UN-recognized national government. It turns out that maybe God is not on your side, or if he is, he’s got a strange way of showing it as your battle lines collapse in the face of an actual army, and that army drives you out of the Somalian capital, a place you’d just gotten used to ruling through intimidation and terror. They drive you south like stampeding cattle back to your former base of operations in Kismayo, and eventually out of that place too. You end up stuck in a remote corner of the country, hemmed in by your foes to the north and east who are pressing you hard with armor, infantry and air, prevented from crossing the Kenyan border to your west, the sea at your back and no haven there since it’s patrolled by lean and hungry greyhounds(AKA: US Naval Warships) who’d like nothing more than to welcome you aboard.
Well, they might actually prefer you making a fight of it, but never mind.
As if all of that was’t bad enough and just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, just when you’d run from your last warren to your final bolt hole, an AC-130 Spectre gunship, of all things, shows up overhead. What do you do?
You die.
That’s what you do.
A U.S. Air Force gunship has conducted a strike against suspected members of al Qaeda in Somalia, CBS News national security correspondent David Martin reports exclusively.
The targets included the senior al Qaeda leader in East Africa and an al Qaeda operative wanted for his involvement in the 1998 bombings of two American embassies in Africa, Martin reports. Those terror attacks killed more than 200 people.
It turns out it’s not the 7th century after all, it’s the 21st and there’s nowhere to run to baby, nowhere to hide.
Sucks to be you.

You can bet your sweet @ss that we will go anywhere the Islamists want to, to spew their devil worship! We've got these evil people on the run and we will crush them no matter where they run to or where they try to hide. No country is safe if they decide to offer these evil people a safe haven.
So, the best thing you can do is get your head out of your butt and understand our resolve in eliminating this movement from the face of the earth.
They (the Islamists) have lost another friend along the way. It seems the Chinese are now in the anti terrorist business, because an Islamic group has started to raise a little hell in China. This may not bode well for the Islamic jihad if China starts seeing this problem from a US perspective. In the past they (China) has sympathized with Iran, the father of Islamic fanaticism, and have even threatened to use its veto power if the UN resolution towards Iran is too restrictive. Now, they may see things a little more clearly and not be as supportive of Iran and its Islamic buddies.

Ethiopia and Somalia (the legitimate government) are friends to the US, they asked for support and it was provided.
We should thank bush for having the balls to fight when the Best Clinton could do is run or simply send a letter from the white house condemning attacks on our own people.
Any ally of the US who needs help More often than not gets it.
Funny part of that is even our enemies cry for help from the US in times of dire need, but since America is "Bad" people amazingly seem to forget that.

If I were President during the whole Somalia fiasco back in the 90's. After those animals dragged the bodies of US serviceman through the streets, I would have pulled my troops out and Mogadishu would cease to exist!

I don't know any thing about this supposedly air strike, so my answer will be limited to , of course we have the right to make a air strike where and when we please, after all we have the planes, the bombs , they probable don't have any planes,
nor any method of defense, so why is it not right??
Israel has been doing this for years, I haven't heard one complaint,
from any one about them dropping outlawed cluster bombs ,in civilian areas, their missiles destroying their homes etc,
so no one had better complain about us dropping what ever we want to drop, as we do have more to drop , do you want them?
don't be yelling it is illegal or not acceptable to the U,N, who cares? we are the big dogs,

You bet no matter where they hide we should go get 'em before they mount another 9/11 attack.
Let me define 9/11 attack- No terrorist is going to be able to take over a plane again. Flight 93 ended that game. The shoe bomber failed in short order. Everytime someone has charge the cockpit it was the passenagers who stop them. The Imams were not stop by security but by the passenagers who are paying attention. What I do mean is another terrorist attack here.

The USA has the right and the obligation to launch air strikes into any nation which is harboring our enemies. You better get Osama out of your closet right now!
