Just reading the Daily Mail, it says that the ex-British carrier HMS Hermes was only 23,000 tonnes? Doesn't seem much, is this correct?

How many aircraft carriers does the UK Navy have, and how many does the US Navy have.

Could you give me some sort of comparison of size between UK and US carriers?

Since it's just a matter of time before every nation has WMDs, and since conflicts based on race are unlikely to end (even if masked as religious or economic or linguistic conflicts, I'm convinced deep down they all are racial conflicts), do you think is there any chance to avoid a Nuclear World War in the future?

to the congress saying is in charge of the all armed forces, why he's not in the battle field fighting just as another soldier? You most uphold your words with action. Come on Mr. Bush show us what are you made of.

I hope you like this question, give me a star if you do, I've always been into first person shooters; and my family has some military in it. I never joined the military..and always wondered...and think I have an answer...

Are there video games out there that realistically use real world military in it? By this I mean how good of a job do video games do of mimicking real war, strategy, what games can't protray yet, what in real world works but doesn't in games, and what games have done a decent job?

I think we all know of a couple of first person shooters....all multiplayer...

Battlefield 1942, 2, 2142
Call of Duty
Counter Strike
Full Stectrum Warrior

(I for one has never seen a multiplayer game that actually makes using suppression fire work well...maybe it's because in games you don't worry about dying and just run and get shot)

I'm curious how it compares to missionaries in our church- they're only allowed to call home twice a year so that they stay better focused on their missionary work.

So this is what I am thinking...I say Bush pull everybody out of Iraq, on the DECLARED premise: Due to Democratic opposition and the will of the people I am pulling all troops out of Iraq immediately.
Then when Iran invades Iraq, the country is in a TRUE civil war, and the American Govt. has no choice but to send troops back into Iraq, then it is of no fault of the current govt.
Worse case scenario, John McCain ends up in Office or another Pro-military president, because lets face it, who would want a democrat in office then. They caused this to happen right, not Bush he was following "their" wishes.
Sure it sounds vindictive, but lets give them what they want.
Before you start the "you conservative ***** comments"
I am a registered DEMOCRAT, but... I have had enough of the "head in the sand" comments. The current democratic parties are saying lets pull them out now, but as soon as one gets in office they aren't going to do it. They just need opposition to Bush for votes.

I've been very interested in the whole ordeal because my husband was on the USS Toledo at the time that they claim bumped into the Kursk. Which he in fact finds it hilarious anyone would think that happend. He mentioned something about their ultra strong missiles, the ones they were trying to show off to China that day to possibly make a profit. That those missiles can very well blow up with the slight ignition or misplacement of any of them.

What do you think happend? And would you support the USN in their choice to bring down that submarine?

The Army says that you'll get a $10,000 bonus and they'll pay your student loans. But I'll have to commit to 8 years on active or inactive duty if I join the Army Nurse Corp. I don't want to end up going to war in Iraq as a soldier if somehow I don't qualify for the Nurse Corp or they all along are truly recruiting me for that. I appreciate what the soldiers do for our country but being a female and hearing all thats gone on on the news, it's scary to me. But I'd love to join the Army Nurse Corp.
I'm a Junior going for my BSN. Thanks for any help.

At first I supported it. I thought that we could help Iraq get back on it's feet, then leave. They seem to be doing well. Then why are we sending more troops! I makes me mad that our boys are dieing because we're protecting Iraq's people when their own govnerment should be doing that. I'm really lukewarm because we should give a helping hand, but young men are dieing. What do you think?
