So this is what I am thinking...I say Bush pull everybody out of Iraq, on the DECLARED premise: Due to Democratic opposition and the will of the people I am pulling all troops out of Iraq immediately.
Then when Iran invades Iraq, the country is in a TRUE civil war, and the American Govt. has no choice but to send troops back into Iraq, then it is of no fault of the current govt.
Worse case scenario, John McCain ends up in Office or another Pro-military president, because lets face it, who would want a democrat in office then. They caused this to happen right, not Bush he was following "their" wishes.
Sure it sounds vindictive, but lets give them what they want.
Before you start the "you conservative ***** comments"
I am a registered DEMOCRAT, but... I have had enough of the "head in the sand" comments. The current democratic parties are saying lets pull them out now, but as soon as one gets in office they aren't going to do it. They just need opposition to Bush for votes.

No sweety and fellow Dem...this would be foolhardy. We must take a hard line with the Iraqi government that they are going to have to take charge of this situation. A gradual, well planned and understood withdrawal of troops...not even immediately back to the states, but in neighboring friendly areas such as Kuwait.

We are not going to agree with every thing that is done in Iraq and we will likely take the blame for much of it. So be it. We cannot stay there forever...even our presence may be esculating and not helping the progress.

We need to bow our heads and admit we were wrong about the WMD to the United Nations...and BEG them to get peace keeping troops in there.

I know that, for many Iraqi's, Bush's pronoucement that the war was over was way early. For them, its never stopped.

One Repub even suggested that we first withdraw our troops to the borders and stop all incoming weapons and terrorists, while the Iraqis deal with the ones already here.

Anyone reading the news can see...the terrorists just took Bush's plan as an excuse to increase their horrific acts on the people and soldiers from both Iraq and the USA.

I do not believe in cut and run, its a bad policy. This needs to be done on a gradual basis...but one that is carved in stone. LEFTY
