Not an easy question. I'm sure kids , Democrats and liberals have definite quick answers. In truth, it is one of the most difficult questions of the century.
I wasn't for going in. being a former Marine, I knew it would take ground forces to maintain it.
If we were tyrants , it would be easy. completely destroy it and rebuild whatever. Since smart bombs etc.We are left in a very bad place.
To leave at this point would open up the world , to the spread of terrorism that has never been seen before.
To Americans it means, fight them there or fight them here.
As the rest of the world watches, like they are not physically involved. They better wake up.
Freedom and democracy is their worst enemy. They want the whole world to be like them.Women to have no rights and everyone worshiping their idea of God alone.
We would be heading back to dark ages instead of the stars.
This one place on Earth is now the line drawn in the dirt.
The fact that we went in is spilt milk. History will show that this war will be a decisive one.
Where do you stand?

From an intelligent veiw point, no tulips involved. WE ARE THERE, in some degree it has become religous battling. If these wierdo's are left to continue the government there as now is will end. If we leave as is we CAN'T go back, congress will not permitt it. Things are on the change as far now our troops can shoot first, a plus for us. They can also "go after suspects instead of waiting for them to get armed. Yhe ONLY way this will end is to cut off weapons from Tehran, and absolute control in EVERY way. Other wise it will end as a car with no engine, it's there but going nowhere. This is very serious and hollywood movie stars don't have the answer as neither does the UNELECTED news media. I could go on but you wouldn't read it. Just my opinon as was asked.

I don't relish war. It's a horrible thing, but this is part of the onging war between Eastern and Western civilization that has been going on for about 3000 years now. If western civilization isn't successful, we will see individual freedoms of worship, speech, assembly, and many others crushed for the next thousand years. Unfortunately, the west has a leadership vacuum and a fair number of people willing to commit cultural suicide that we might lose it.

War in Iraq is an aggression against Iraqi people based on big lies and cheating(WMD).Iraqi and American people are the real losers in the first degree and the stability of the countries of the middle east in the second degree .The main winners are Iran and Israel. It is a war against humanity and international law.

I think it's not half as bad as the media and democrats portray it. I think we'll win and things will improve. I'm so glad we went and am thrilled to see justice administered for all the Iraqis. They deserve freedom too and it's happening!! Yes, it's tough but life is tough. If we back out too soon, al Queda may get WMDs and then we'd be in BIG trouble. We need to think about long term consequences not short term. Our military soldiers are heroes!!

Our soldiers are doing a fine job hunting down people that want to kill Americans and others. If your not with us then your against us. Our President isn't afraid. I think he is doing a super job for a super country. So you should sleep well knowing we have the best military hunting people that want to do you harm and harm to others in hopes of screwing a few virgins.

I think that we really have no business there. Our only true achievement was when we captured Saddam Hussein and he wasn't a threat to us. I think that Osama bin Laden expected us to do exactly what we did. Even worse, Iraq is a hopeless case so we don't even have a real excuse to stay. The only way for Iraq to function is for it to be ran by a dictator. That's just how things are over there and I expect one will take over the minute we pull out.

i think it will end up like vietnam with not as many american casualties unless maybe you guys stay there the next ten years - vietnam was a little more than ten years with 58 000 american fatalities
it will be a scorn on the american psyche for generations

I think all foreign troops should pull out. Their presence is only causing death and maiming. They have no right to be there! I think this war is one of the darkest periods in history. I implore all people who believe in peace and dignity to call upon their country's governments to demand the return of their troops. How many more innocent Iraqis must die? How many more U.S. troops? How many more young lives cut down before their prime? And how many more widows, childless mothers and children without both parents?
