I am not married, but maybe by the time i join the AF i will be. They told me she can live with me on-base, BUT, they will move us to other AF bases once in a while. I wanna know how is that gonna affect her in her job she has at the time we are in that base?
Is she gonna have to look for a job again? Or are they gonna help her get a job similar to the one she had before?

We get everyone out of the Country that wants to leave ( after telling them we are going to bomb every square inch). We get them out and do exactly that. (Not nuclear or Atomic, and after bombing we send in enough coalition troops to cover every mile of land and kill anyone still standing). It sounds cruel, but if they are still there, so be it. THEN, we help them build a democratic society? How about it?

Iraq resistance forces capture people and behead them. We court martial troops for making them walk around naked, or killing one that's trying to kill our soldiers. Does anyone besides me think this is B ull S hit? They ( Iraq resistance) have to feel like they can do whatever they want and not worry because our troops have to treat them with compassion. I say: LET OUR TROOPS DO THEIR JOBS!!! I would love to hear how some of you feel about this.

Is the common soldier ultimately to blame for ALL wars? In the words of the song " Universal soldier"
He's five foot-two, and he's six feet-four,
He fights with missiles and with spears.
He's all of thirty-one, and he's only seventeen,
Been a soldier for a thousand years.

He'a a Catholic, a Hindu, an Atheist, a Jain,
A Buddhist and a Baptist and a Jew.
And he knows he shouldn't kill,
And he knows he always will,
Kill you for me my friend and me for you.

And he's fighting for Canada,
He's fighting for France,
He's fighting for the USA,
And he's fighting for the Russians,
And he's fighting for Japan,
And he thinks we'll put an end to war this way.

And he's fighting for Democracy,
He's fighting for the Reds,
He says it's for the peace of all.
He's the one who must decide,
Who's to live and who's to die,
And he never sees the writing on the wall.

But without him,
How would Hitler have condemned him at Dachau?
Without him Caesar would have stood alone,
He's the one who gives his body
As a weapon of the war,
And without him all this killing can't go on.

He's the Universal Soldier and he really is to blame,
His orders come from far away no more,
They come from here and there and you and me,
And brothers can't you see,
This is not the way we put the end to war.

Before I left Iraq, I was told that for OIF we were authorized to wear the same patch used on the Class A's. The reasoning was the subdued 'black' 1 was for Desert Storm and the 'red' 1 was for OIF. I've seen very few wear the color patch, and havent found anything in 670-1 or online to substantiate this. Any of you active duty folks ever heard of this?

Just as in Viet Nam, this a war where the people from Iraq don't want them there, and the anti war ralliest make soldiers feel like there is no point, or honor in being there. In addition, it is almost impossible to tell "friend" from "foe", and just as in Viet Nam... they brutally torture, and slaughter the American P.O.W.'s, and civilians. American soldiers form a bond, just like a family. Then to lose this family to sensleless terrorist attacks? By people, who look, just the same as the supposed to be civialian Iraqies? Children, and women strapped with explosives? Booby traps in supposed civilian housing areas? To the average person, to kill without pre "hostile" knowledge seems horrible, and murderous. You see the news, and see innocent Iraqie victims. The soldiers often look, and see potential attackers, and murderers of family. They weren't murders before the war. They need serious mental treatment. Not publicly crucified, to satisfy human rights activist, and anti war ralliest.

I am asking for serious answers only. I have been talking to marine recruiters about joining the reserves for now, until I get out of college. I have not yet asked them about what people in the reserves do. Can they deploy you if you are in the marine reserves and still a full time college student? What sort of infantry jobs are available to reserve soldiers? I can't find them on their website. Do they have a paratrooper division like in the army?

Do you support the War in Iraq? It is a big topic in today's society, and although I will always support our troops who risk their lives for us everyday, it makes me very sad and upset that so many troops are losing their lives each and everyday. I'm definitely nervous now, because one of my closest friends is going to Iraq in September, and he just joined the Marine Corps last summer. What are your thoughts on the War in Iraq?
