YES! The average enlisted man/woman (E-3 to E-5), with at least 2 years of service only earn between $797.00 and $967.00 per week. You think about what they do to get this. I'd say that fighting a war would have you on call 24 hrs a day and leaving family and friends behind wondering if they are coming back or ot. I've known some families that made about $25.00 too much a month to be considered for food stamps. I feel that they will never be payed enough!

cardinalfanusa how much time did you spend in the military? I came back for Iraqi Freedom with cancer(softball sized tumor in my hip before they would stop beliving I was tring to scam them) and now it has spread to both my lungs? And I'm only 25. I draw 100% disablity since my hip is trashed and my lungs arn't much better, does it make me lazy? Maybe I would have been still on duty if they had handled it correctly when I first had problems, but guess that makes me lazy right? Or how about all those people told to suck up problems rather than go to medical or if they go just be turned away by underskilled person not willing to look into the problem? All lazy or crazy?

Of course! So many of us are WIC that they have offices on base housing! My husband and I are living paycheck to paycheck and we're about to have our second child. I own one pair of maternity shorts, one pair of maternity pants and three maternity shirts. We can't afford more.
We don't do this for the money (obviously) but for the love our country. We get paid $1200 every payday (twice a month). That goes to our mortgage, electricity, water, phone, groceries, diapers, baby food, need I go on?
But you know what, it's not just us. It's the teachers, the police, the firefighters, and even the social workers. Maybe these people getting paid to read lines (actors) or play games (athletes) could show that they really care and switch salaries. The problem is, they aren't as charitable as they would like us to think.

YES!! They absolutly should! We wouldn't be posting things on Yahoo Answers right now,if it wasn't for the military. They made and protect our freedom. One other thing I don't understand is why the airforce gets paid so much more than the Marines.Every service is brave and important, but being 10,000 ft. in the air, isn't as life-risking or dangerous as being the first-to-fight on the front lines. The best of the best, are getting the worst of the worst.

I think the members of the US military should count themselves lucky that they get paid as they do....in some countries they get barely 1,000 a month...sometimes less! The US military ain't that bad...and you do have a choice besides....join? don't join?

yes, as a matter of a fact E4's and below are encouraged to go apply for foodstamps to help out their financial situation. That is entirely unacceptable!! They are protecting our country, but need foodstamps to survive, am I the only one that sees a problem with this?

Err, back to the question. I think the U.S. should cut out all of the "crazy" checks and "lazy" um, disability checks and use that money to increase military pay.

U.S. armed forces workers consent to it as area of their preparation, so as that they are going to be in a position to guard their usa in the adventure that they are captured and tortured. at the same time as military Seals, as an celebration, are waterboarded, it really is nevertheless seen torture. they are agreeing to be tortured, so the act is felony if so.
