I could:
(1) Have my driver license suspended for 28 days, going only to work, church, and school, then drive for 2 months only during daylight hours. No passengers except immediate family members. Goes off my record. Attend driving school for 4 hours. Cost: $100.00

(2) Normal pay the fine. Goes on record. Insurance cost increases. Cost: $119.00 plus insurance. Driver license privileges unaffected.

Actor Woody Harrelson's father, Charles Harrelson, has died in the federal Supermax prison in Colorado, where he was serving two life sentences for killing a U.S. judge in Texas. I'm just wondering how his sentence was doubled, was it because he killed a judge? How about some expert law-person answering this one. Thanx

I'm working on the subject of Police discretion in my Corrections in America class this week. The topic is Police discretion. There isn't much information in the text, so I was hoping to get a few answers from a few officers or other people in the CRJ field. My main question is what exactly is meant by police discretion? (what does police discretion mean--I know what discretion means, but I am assuming actual "police" discretion is a bit different in its own--and what does police discretion involve?) How does the pratice of discretion by todays officers affect your department and the policing profession as a whole?

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

And I said that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!! Going 45 in a 40... freakin please.. the cop had no car, bike nothin, just walked out in front of him on the street (very very stupid on his part, its a really busy street) and gave him a ticket for 5 over. I said I would have just kept goin, if he had no way to come after me then forget him!!
But anyway, I told my friend to fight it, and the p***y he is said no... I'll just pay it. But my thought if you just take it into court it would be thrown out as a waste of time. What do you all think?

My friend died in his sleep last night.
Yesterday he got in a fight and was punched very hard in the face about three or four times. Apparently his brain hemoraged and thats how he died. Can the person who did this to him go to jail? And on what charges?

This is in regaurds to the State of California and these red light cameras. I know that running a red light is illegal. So is being stoped in an intersection when the light turns red since it's impeding traffic.

I know that these cameras can ticket for running the red light and in some instances for speeding. But can these cameras ticket someone for being stopped in the middle of the intersection due to heavy traffic? In other words can they ticket for impeding the flow of traffic? Or are none of them set up for that sort of thing?

For a traffic violation like that how much would it cost in Culver City? How much would it cost in Van Nuys?

Thanks for your assistance.

Trying to steer clear from the kydex style because I use this when I ride my motorcycle, so I need something soft sided that can flex more while on a motorcycle. Plus, I have a G23 with a Fobus and I don't like that it puts wear marks on the trigger gaurd.

The Miranda warning came about because of a landmark Supreme Court case in which a developmentally disabled man named Miranda had been arrested but didn't know what his rights were. That being said, though, do you think that most developmentally disabled people would actually understand the Miranda warning if it was given to them?

i hope everybody does just that,, when a police officer pulls you over just give your name and license, insurance card and registration, and thats it,, they dont have the right to ask you where you are going or what you are doing,, they dont have the right to search your car, they dont have the right to ask if you are hiding anything,, they use verbal tactics to get you to talk so use it back on them,, if they want to search you car,, then get out and lock the door and say get a warrant,,dont be bullied,
