and as a vicar, I must say - And may his soul rest in eternal peace!

Absolutely. Minimum. It is common knowledge that drunk driving kills people, and I am sure he knew this before he put the bottle to his lips. Now an innocent man is dead. His family has suffered a great deal of pain. This should in no way go without punishment.

If it were your spouse or child, how would you feel? Would 15 be long enough? How about one of your parents? Or your best friend?

When crimes go unpunished, an example is set that you can beat the law (sometimes you can) and are free to do whatever you want, within or outside the law.

Should be longer than 15 years after all the victim is dead forever. Drinking and driving is a choice and so far the only one paying the consequence of Billy Lane's decision is the victim, who is dead, dead from his family, dead forever. Lane needs to go for longer.

Should go to jail longer. Getting drunk and then planning to drive is pretty much premeditated murder. Just with no specific victim in mind

Yes, he should. He knew better than to drive drunk. He is just stupid and needs time away from public life.
