I got a speeding ticket on I-95 doing 77 in a 55. I'm currently studying abroad in Spain until June. When I come back I'd like to try to fight the ticket because the cop was a real prick. Any advice?

New Jersey, where I'm from, views all out-of-state moving violations as 2 points.

What county of MD? PG? Anne Arundel? Try to pleading "not-guilty" and hope the cop doesn't show up. Your case would be dropped. Otherwise, plea guilty with an explanation....the judge will drop some points (you're probably facing about 5 points right now) and the fine amount plus receive PBJ (Probation Before Judgment).

Whether or not the cop was a prick is irrelevant to your speed. Are you going to fight it because you weren't going 77? Be careful, you might just make the cop that much more smug about it.

Try and put the court date off as many times as possible (you can usually change it 2 times before they say too bad you're coming to this one!) That way there is a chance that the cop won't show up.

If you were caught on 95 it was most likely a trooper, and they usually show up.
