Live in SC. Need to get my BC corrected. I have my SSN card correct. So, would I need an attorney for this? The court house seems oblivious to what I am asking. Any suggestions?

I am in court with my ex-landlord to get my deposit back, her defense is that she was forced to sign the paperwork when her husband purchased the property, because she is wife. I'm trying to distinguish if she is his partner voluntarily or by force.

My girlfriend was rear ended by a state trooper on the highway. She was going 5mph (traffic was slowing down) and he was chasing another vehicle, but didn't switch lanes quick enough. Her car is now totalled. The insurance company said that since it was a state trooper, her insurance has to pay for it. What can she do? Can she sue?

I live in vineland new jersey, and i am going to 10th grade... I go to public schools and last year they inforced a manditory dress code.. we are only allowed to wear collared shirts, no ripped clothing and no teeshirts... It is horrible, I dont understand how a PUBLIC SCHOOL can deny someone their education because they arent wearing a collar.. They put people in inschool suspension if they arent wearing a collared shirt. Next year [in september} they are going to make the dresscode strickter. I heard proper fitting collared shirts, no hoodies, and girls arent allowed to wear anything lose cutting.. basically if your showing skin your in violation of the dress code.. please help us I think this is unamerican dont we as students have rights ... their retarted reason for all this was a lie,.. they claim its for safety, they claim people can hide weapons in teeshirts.. HELLO?!?! BOOKBAGS, POCKETS?!?.

As far as I know she is not paid to maintain the website or myspace. She doesn't really work for the company she is doing this more as a favor. My question is can she legally sign "Our Company" Management as her signature? Since she is really not part of our management but it has been confusing people on our myspace site.

his father and I have a split arrangement, and lately he's been saying his dad locks him in the dark by himself. I want to know if the courts take a three year old's statement seriously. I need to change the custody order to full custody, with the father having every other weekend visitation.

Do you think a three year old's statement is valid in front of a judge? My child also cries and shows apprehension when I mention his father.

I had what appeared to be a very successful phone interview. The employer had offered at the end of the phone conversation to fly me to another state for an in-person interview. He asked about my availability to travel, and requested that I email him with specific dates. I did. He has not responded to two emails and a phone call. Is there something I can do? I think his silence is unprofessional and unethical. He reneged on his oral promise. Is there any recourse I have? I don't understand his silence at all. Why doesn't he simply communicate to me what he decided with respect to the position, even if he had decided to retract his offer for free travel?

I was involved in a collision with an 11 yr old on a motorized scooter. He ran into the side of my vehicle and after the accident was investigated by my insurance, he was deemed 90% at fault. The cost of my repair ($1124.36) will not be covered completely by my insurance as I only have a $1000 deductible. I would like to proceed to small claims court in order to be compensated for the damages. However, I would like to know what are my chances in a case like this. Please inform me if you can. Thanks.

I am in a situation where behind closed doors, I was told by my company ," We really do not want an OSHA. If you work w/ us we will look out for you , BUT you have to do what you think is best." Nudge, wink. I have just gotten the job and I am not protected by the union. It has been 5 days now, and none of my superiors have given an ounce of comfort about my job.I am left in LIMBO. My peers on the other hand are very upset w/ how I am being treated. What to do ?

The first amendment says "Congress shall make no law... abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble..." Technically, doesn't this mean that the government's censorship of profanity on TV and radio is illegal?

So upon death decease loses all legal rights and probate makes a will legal. My will consists of two aspects a) Demand to be cremated b) Bestow to C my assets.

Probate takes place. Next of Kin desides contrary to my demand and has be buried and attempts to bestow my assets to B contrary to my demand in my legalised will for C to have them.

Bear in mind the wills integrity is not in question and as been legalised by probate - and, I have lost all my rights in death to my next of kin - why can't she have bestowed upon B my assets then?

Bianco was 17 when he purchased a telescope from the Stars and Stripes Hobby Center. On his way home, he had an automobile accident that badly damaged the telescope. The next day, he returned to the store with the telescope and demanded his money back. The store owner told him she was not legally requited to give him his money back, even though she knew he was a minor, because the telescope was damaged. Was the store owner correct? Why or why not?

My husband and I have a two year old little girl, and we are getting our wills done soon to ensure her safety should something happen to us. We have decided on a guardian for her, my best friend. However, our families are outraged at this and would probably try to wrest custody of our daughter from our chosen guardian should we die. Would establishing her as Godmother make her legal rights to our daughter more valid, since she is not a blood relative? If so, How would we go about it?

Is there a middle ground on this issue? I can understand that we live in a progressive era, and I can certainly understand that we want all people to be treated equally under the law. However, at the same time I do want to live far away from child molesters, strip clubs, and places where prostitution takes place. I also really don't want to have to explain what a drag queen or a transsexual is to my child until they are grown-up enough to understand. I'm not even sure I understand.

I admit that I just don't get it, and maybe it's a failing. I am not motivated by hatred, nor do I wish to enforce my views on the entire world, but would it be wrong for me and others like me to simply live in communities which have decency laws, and those who are more accepting of every kind of behavior to live in more liberal communities?

Perhaps we could tolerate other points of view if they weren't forced on us. How about letting states decide these things so that all viewpoints are welcome?

I told ONE of my coworkers what had happened and then we reported the incident to my bosses. they made me write down exactly what had happened and made me sign a ppr that said I wouldnt speak to any of my coworkers about it. the next day they called me to tell me they had an investigation and that the incident "had in fact happened." they told me that they had taken care of the situation and taken “appropriate measures” and that if he ever spoke to me again I had to report it immediately. For a few days he was gone from my work. We were even told that he was in another city. Today he was at work again. we saw each other but neither one of us said anything. I was shocked to see him there after everything. I truly feel afraid to be at my work which I told my bosses. I feel disrespected and confused. Some ppl are telling me take legal action but I dont know what options I have if any at all. Does anyone have any advice on what do? Has this happened to anyone? Help plese!!

What is an average cost to have a lawyer draft up a simple will? I don't need anything that complicated but what I do have I want protected.

I have discovered that if I make a valid will of sound mind, free will and demand my body be buried (or conversely cremented) that irrespective what I demand in my will of the means for disposal (buried/cremented), my next of kin as been given the fundamental right to deside the means of disposal (buried/cremented).

I, who makes the will (and all other people in the uk), have not been given that right! And yet, the contents applicable to the material/financial aspects of my/your will, the next of kin, as no right whatsoever to alter the (my/your) stipulations in that respect.

In other words I can make a will of which the integrity is not open to a successful legal challange and demand that I be cremented and my next of kin can for whatever her reason, can ignore my demand for cremention and have me buried and that's legal for her to do so!

Why as a next of kin been given that fundamental right and we who make a will are denied/had removed that right?

This is outrageous!!
