I've heard mixed opinions on this. My Mother is constantly opening my letters. I live at her address but I am always the last person to know I have post and by the time I do know, it has already been opened and read. Is there something I can do about this? I have already tried talking to her on numerous occasions but she just doesn't stop! I am tired of having no privacy and I am trusting her less and less. I find it difficult to tell her anything as is and just when I was starting to open up to her more, she has done it again. Help.

My friend is currently 17 and he wants to change guardianship from his parents to his friend that he will live with after he gets the guardianship change if possible. And if this is possible what is the steps that he needs to take . And is there a price? And does his parents have to come to court to transfer their guardianship to his friend. He is in a little bit of probation trouble so will that make it harder for him to transfer the guardianship? A nice detailed answer would be nice.

I suspect that she is mentally ill, because in some critical situations her behavior becomes very harmfull.

For instance my father had a surgical operation and the doctor prescribed him some antibiotics to take for several days. My mother "decided" that the period for taking the pills was too long, so she emotionally blackmailed my father not to take them all, actually he cut the pills in the half of the period. After that he had some complications, but luckilly all went well, thanks to the doctor. There are other examples like this as they became older (she is 64, he is 70).

She is a stay-at-home, she is not even driving (never had a licence!), she had never tried to work something for money, she has never participated in the family income.

Okay where does my story begin?! I have been concerned for my best friend latley. I have been having nightmares of his death for weeks now. They are similar to the ones I had before my girlfriend and grandfather died. Now my friend has been getting into risky territory so that is one reason why I am concerned. Someone threatend him with a gun and then there are a few that want to see him get killed. And now a member of the new Trench Coat Mafia or what ever it is called wants me to join them so I can protect my friend. I have heard of this gang before. This person has been telling me things about the new TCM and telling me things about the government that are bad. They are telling me these stories to get me to join them and become anti government. They offer my friend protection and they will train me so I can protect them. Should I join them or remain by my friend's side?

In small claims court, if you won a case against someone who owed you money, how would the judge determine that the person cannot pay back? I've read before that even if you win, that doesn't mean that you will get your money back. Does the court in any way ensure that get your money back? Because otherwise, what is the point of going to court?

What does an an affidavit for non prosecution entail? Briefly police were called, argument got out of hand, spouse was asked to leave the residence, police came back to house, spouse had a warrent for a hot check from 11/03, arrested spouse and then, charged the spouse also with family violence and was arrested with both charges. I now have to go to DA in Bexar cty, Texas, to fill out an affidavit for non prosecution, before court date this week for both charges. What can we expect to happen? Thanks for all answers in advance...

Dont answer off of emotion. I understand it sounds harsh, but would it not reduce the rate of harsh crimes. If you truly think not, id really like to hear your input.

I live in Australia and when you are 18 you are legally classed as an adult. You can drink you can smoke, you can vote. My mother left my son $50,000 in her Will, but he is not allowed to have access to this money until he is 21. He is 20 now and would like to have access to his money, if not all of it...$10,000 of it. My sister is executor of this Will...he has asked her for this money, but she is ignoring his phone calls. One solicitor advised me that because he is legally an adult, he can get this money. My son just spoke to a solicitor then who said what is said in the Will stands and if it says 21, then he cant get it till he is 21. Can anyone throw any more light on this subject.

My Boyfriend is from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has his law degree from the University of Buenos Aires and is thinking of coming to the US to see if he can work for a couple of years. He has an "Abogados" degree which is an Attorney-At-Law and is currently working for a firm. I believe that it's considered at least a LLB in the US. My question is, I live in New Jersey and he will be living with me so he needs to work in New Jersey or NYC...the train is close to me. I'm having a really hard time finding any information on what's required for him to work here...

Can anyone give us any advice??? thanks so much!

What if your elderly father was unable to get to the bathroom because his feet were turning black(you would later find out,it is gange green), while his wife stood and watched as the infection took its toll and you were called to come over to make the decision whether he was to go to the hospital? What if he then became hospitalized and you found out that his infection was costing him his life, because it hadn't been treated fast enough and she was signing his name to his checks without power of attorney, committing forgery, to pay her bills while he laid in the hospital suffering from dementia? Would you take her to court? What if she only went to see your father once a week, and shared the holidays with her grown children while your father was hooked up to an oxygen machine, drugged out of his mind to keep away the pain? Would you try to get her on neglect? What is she was taking a vacation with your father's money? To what extent would you go?
