It always puzzles, me......why should traffic pollice, turn on thier sirens when in pursuit of a criminal/traffic jumper/highflyer??

I mean...they could spot the suspect/criminal and then organise a trap and then WHAN!!!....I mean WHAM!! the suspect or the bad dude is handcuffed.

Suspects/Bad dudes always speed up more and sometimes get a chance to outdo the traffice police guys...^_^

So.....I was just curious...^_^

When the new law came in we were presented on the BBC with "evidence" that the loss of concentration while using a phone is as bad an effect as drinking alcohol.

IF this is true, surely the penalties should be the same - i.e. automatic disqualification for one year.

If it is NOT true, surely they should shut up.

My view? Having had many near misses with people on phones, I actually think it is WORSE than the effects of small amounts of alcohol - they should have their phones seized, be banned from driving for 12 months and have to take a re-test. THEN these selfish people would stop.

As a lot of you have read, Phil Jackson and the Lakers have recently been fined $50,000 each for their comments regarding the Kobe Bryant suspensions. Although I do agree that Kobe deserved the suspensions, how can the NBA fine people for what they say? Isn't the right to freedom of speech protected by the U.S. Constitution? And don't say the NBA isn't the U.S. government, because most of the people in NBA are U.S. citizens entitled to their rights regardless of what organization they work for.

I have been stitched up by HSBC and have met a brick wall from them. I left them about 5 years ago and was one of their top advisers with an exemplary record. I applied to rejoin them, got through all their on-line and telephone tests but was then turned down before I got to the Assessment Day which is not the agreed process. ie I was discriminated against. It can only be age (believe me) but now they refuse to answer my questions. CAB say I don't stand a chance if they haven't put anything in writing BUT THERE MUST BE A WAY. PS I know all about the investments made through them from Nigerian leaders. Could that have anything to do with it?

I got 6 months probation for simple assault and it was my first offense. I caught a guy with my ex girlfriend and he started talking s*** so I snapped and hit him. I live in Massachusetts and now employers are asking on applications if you have ever been convicted of a misdemeanor. Some go even as far as asking you have ever committed a crime! I have filled out like 70 applications in the last month, they have called me for interviews only 2 times and both times I didn't get hired. Could it be because I said NO? I don't consider that a conviction since I have never been to jail. What should I do? What if no on hires me now? I really want to work and I don't know what to do :(. is my only hope starting my own business?

(Writing question for a friend) My mother left my dad, brother and I a year ago to live with a boyfriend. She continued to come to the house on holidays and stuff. My father had a massive stroke and died last June. My mom came to the hospital but the nurse told me that since she was estranged and I am 28 all decisions have to be ran past me-not her. Anyway, we had to unplug him and he passed. Problem is that my mom immediatly stepped in and handled arrangments, cashed the insurance, and moved back into our house like she never left. My Brother and I never saw a dime! She will not even let me have the car my dad left behind. Are we entitled to anything? She keeps saying he left no will and she can do what she wants. I think she was cold and turned her back on us and is NOT entitled to anything. I need to know b4 any limitations run out.
Any lawyers or paralegals in Indiana please help?

I think people should know that people like George Bush and the Republicans are trying to impose medical malpractice caps on lawsuits for pain and suffering of limits up to $250,000. This includes injuries involving death, blindness, paralysis, loss of a limb, and many other horrific injuries that could happen to any of us. These people defend this in the name of health care costs; meanwhile, there are many studies which show there is no correlation between med mal insurance and lawsuit caps. People should know there are over 100,000 deaths attributed to medical malpractice - let alone all the people maimed by careless doctors, yet Bush and the Republicans support this, as they claim to support freedom and justice around the word. I'd like to know where is the justice to those innocent victims and families facing heartache due to medical malpractice - certainly 250k will not do the job. It will just promote more careless doctors to practice unsafe medicine.

How does any1 else feel?
