I see lots of questions on here along the lines of "if I marry a US citizen, do I automatically become a citizen too?" and "If my baby is born in the US, how long until I automatically become a citizen?"

Wouldn't it make sense to have public service announcements clarifying the law? I'm thinking of something along the lines of Michigan's anti-drunk driving public announcements (which offers a "free ride in a cop car, and an all expense paid stay in jail" in the tones of an "as seen on TV" ad... but that's not all...)

So, would this deter illegal aliens? Or would they scoff at it?

Hi. Can you get a tourist visa to visit the USA. Then when you arrive here, apply for a job. And then once you've gotten a job can you apply for an extension on your visa so that eventually you could work towards receiving a green card? Is that allowed?

My grand parents were mexicans living in Colorado, but the border crossed my granparents in 1848 when they were very young, so they became gringos, and since then all my other relatives are gringos, except me who was born in mexico.
But I was living in a poor rural area, and now I need greens!!!!
I crossed with a coyote five tears ago, and since then I am here in el gabacho in serach of el dorado.

House Democratic leaders are being whipsawed on immigration policy by two groups within their caucus — Hispanic lawmakers who want an end to Democratic support of enforcement-only immigration bills and vulnerable Democrats from swing districts who say a “get tough” approach is necessary to keep their seats in 2008. Question Details: For 2,000+ years the British have fought everyone including the Vikings, Romans, Saxons, Normans and Germans who wanted to settle in Britain.

The lives of British soldiers have been sacrificed for 2 millenium to protect our land and heritage.

Why have the Government spent the last 50 years giving it all away?

What did those soldiers die for?

Because all I'm seeing is masses upon masses of poor, uneducated Third World illegals who don't seem to understand the meaning of birth control, coming here by the millions to leech off the system, refusing to assimilate, don't even try to learn English to the point where you can't even communicate within your own community anymore becuase Pedro dosen't want to learn English, congest our hospitas and schools with their offspring who we have to set up special bilingual programs for, demand we change our ways to accomadate them, demand we keep giving them freebies, march the streets waving their foreign flags, and call anybody who disagree's with thier actions 'racist'

"Give us your best, your brightest"

Well, these aren't the best immigrants we've had, and their most certainly not the 'brightest' either.

Is it because Americans overprice themselves and don't work hard enough?

Or because illegals underprice themselves and work too hard?
