It's really quite simple. If either of the parents is a UK citizen, or has Indefinite Leave to Remain, the child can claim UK citizenship. If not, then no. For example, if the parents have leave to remain, but this is limited to a certain number of years, then the child will not be able to become a UK citizen; however, if in future the parents do get ILR, the child will become a citizen. Please be aware that having a UK-citizen child does not give a non-citizen parent any right to remain in the UK beyond the visa they already have.

Never! Britain has less immigrants (by % of population) than Netherlands, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, to name a few. See http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/imm_imm_pop_imm_as_per_of_sta_pop-immigrant-population-immigrants-percentage-state for the facts. But I think some people (especially those who spend there life whinging on forums like this) aren't interested in facts!

Well, that might happen in other parts of the country, but, you see, i'm in County Durham, and it is a 99.8% White British area, so I have only seen but a handful of foreigners (really!).

It'll take a long time up here.
