Experience of moving overseas with children and changing schools, settling in to a new life, environment etc. Is there such a site that can give me advice and maybe for my kids to read to show they'll soon make friends etc. My kids are 15 and 12.

Shouldnt our Goverment offer Amnesty to the thousands of immigrants who clean our streets everyday , clean the toilets and work in our bars...Wouldnt that be both moral and legal?
As a English man I fully support it to celebrate this dark period of our history

Most of us hate illegal immigration, but we do not hate the illegals themselves. In fact, many of us have friends or local workers who are illegals, and we don't want hard times to befall upon them. It may be the guys who cut our yard with a smile, or the girl working at the corner bakery, or they folks down at the farmers market.

We hate the problem, but not the perpetrators.

That is why I am pessimistic that anything will be done to stop it.

Honestly, what do you think? I have nothing against the Mexican people. I'm half. Yes, they do take jobs, which leaves less for the people in California and other states - but really don't they want to live? What life do they have in Mexico? Wouldn't you move too - if you were in their place? Death or be an illegal?
Surely if we tried we could help their government...

MIGRATION ? To describe the movement of illegal aliens into the USA?

Migration ..describes the movement of a population within its "own country", not to another country.

Just one more of his "Bushism mis-speaks"or a another reason perhaps ?
What do you think his intent was by his use of the word migration ?

As most moderate Americans, I understand both sides of the immigration debate. What I do not understand is this . . . For those of you who are apposed to amnesty how do you think we should pay for our entitlement programs given the US population deficit. This economic issue is what keeps me on the fence. Without a population surge, how does the the USA maintain its current spending without raising taxes or do we across the board cut spending to compensate. Or do we just reduce benefits the millions of people that are about to retire. Or how do we maintain our military budget and pay down the deficit without increasing the number of tax payers.

My fiancee has a tourist visa and I was told that all we need is his birth certificate and some identification. Is that true. Also, we live in Mexico and were going to get married in the US, then return to Mexico while we wait for the visa stuff to be processed. Does anyone have any advice on this? And where do I start? There are so many forms. Does he need a green card first? What do we apply for first?

My question is is this workable? First, would it be very hard for her to get a tourist visa to the U.S.? Secondly, once she was here and we got married, would she then be allowed to stay in the U.S.? Any thoughts on this? I've already visited her but it's been more than two years now so in order to get a fiance visa I would have to go back there, and I would rather that she would just come here.

I’m from the Netherlands. I’m self employed, my work is online-based and is a legal, taxed company in that country. Now I’m interested in staying in the US on a long-term basis (as a tourist).

What I thought of doing was simply booking say an 89-day stay in the US, then leaving for a few days (back to the Netherlands), then returning. Is this possible? I’m asking because the last time I entered the States, the immigration officer at the airport seemed to be calculating my total number of days that year, so I feel like there is a possibility that they’re like “no.” So my question is, is there a limit (per year) as to how often I can re-enter the US in this way?

I’ve tried looking this stuff up, but everywhere I look I get the same 90-days-then-leave spiel. I know this, but I need to know if this is going to work long-term. Like I said, I won’t be working in the US, just living as a kind of permanent tourist.

I really appreciate any insight here.

younger sisters to come to the USA from the Philippines, how long is the wait for a petition to happen after it's filed, and is it faster for my wife to petition her 13 year old sister while shes a greencard holder or is it faster after she becomes a US citizen? We know the wait is probably 12 years or more but wonder exactly what the wait time is for that at this time.Anyway ty for any info I am sure someone knows some about this situation.

They are about to vote on it in congress, paying out over 800 billion to illegal aliens and these aliens will NEVER pay that much taxes back in their lifetimes
I think they should send them back and divide the 800 billion among American citizens

Yep, they are going to pass the DREAM Act, which will give the illegals amnesty and make your children pay higher costs for education and they [your kids] have to get in line behind the illegals for a colege education.

Isn't America great?
