I suppose it IS possible since my husband has a UK passport. My husband has been living in the US since he started college in 1997. We both now live and work in the US (he's now a permanent resident of the US) and have few ties to the UK. We've talked about the possibility of moving to London at some point in the future, but I would not want to live there if I could not find a job ahead of time (it's too expensive to be unemployed). We both have advanced degrees. Is there any way for me to apply for permanent residency based on our marriage alone (we've been married for four years), or do I need to live there for a period of time before I can apply to residency? If this is not possible, is there a way for me to apply for a work permit ahead of time if we ever decide to make the move?
