Contact the authorities or the American embassy immediately. If you can prove your identity (with an American driver's license, for example), they should be able to help you.

You should be taken into protective custody by an embassy officer and charges will be pursued against your father.

I would explain your situation to the American Embassy. I'm sure they can help you, especially since you are no longer a minor. However, please be prepared for the major falling out with your father. It sounds as though there isn't really a strong relationship there. I would imagine that telling the American Embassy that you are being held against your will as a US citizen that this could get your dad into big trouble (since he won't give you your passport). Once you have your passport, then all you need is your ticket to come home.

If you are of legal age to make your own decisions then I would think you could go to the American Embassy and discuss the situation with them and see if they would provide assistance in getting your passport back from your father. I would think that it might be illegal for someone to deny you your passport if you are of legal age.

I agree with most of the others .Get to an American Embassy and tell them about your situation. They can help you . You are an American and they must help you to get the papers to get you back home again. Good luck to you .

Sure.

Do you have a birth certificate and your old passport? Try the state department web page.

you gota know where you were born so they could check the birth place for birth certificate, and maybe if you know your name and your birthdate, i'm not sure, go to the u.s. embassy and maybe they could help you.

I am sure your dad is scared of you adopting western culture and become weirdo like others in america. He surely wanted you to learn the culture and roots as where you belong from. If thats not the reason, and other reason is his own personal benefit and putting you in trouble then you could approach for applying new passport. you would get one, i m sure.
