no hun u cant... there is alot of steps to becoming a US citizen first u will need to live here 2nd your lawyer with have your wife sign papers being your sponcer then about 4 months later if approved you will recieve a SSN card after this the lawyer will apply for a green card after 1 yr you and your wife will have a meeting if appoved you will get a green card 5 yrs later after this you can apply for US citizenship ONLY if you have been living in the US for the whole 5 yrs you will not be able to leave the US until you recieve the green card if you leave before then all the work your lawyer has done is now void and has to be done all over again. now if your with her 5 yrs in the US and you have a green card you can file for citizenship without her but you still have to be married to her. then if you recieve the citizenship and try to divorce her she can tell the courts what your plan was and it can be revoked.

I believe the US will make you give up your Aussie citizenship before you they will grant you citizenship - something to consider.

No ,I don't think its automatic. I thought she had to apply for you as a spouse. Ask the American Embassy ,they will know .
