Why is this more important now more than ever? I would like an answer.
Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be NO divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but ONE flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

I am 15, and right now I live in Canada but I want to go to university in the US when I am older, and then get a green card and one day become and American citizen because I really like it in the US and I want to live there. But I heard, that when a US male citizen, or permenant resident (green card) turns 18, they have to register to the Army? Is that true, and if it is, does that mean I would have to go to war or go to Iraq if there is that is still happening in 5 - 10 years?

everyone keeps screaming the illegals need to get out...and go out it the right way, apply for paper work whatever... listen people most mexicans flee here and APPLY for citizenship the second they get here. its not that simple they cant just apply for citizenship over there becuase the government doesnt let them, it is a very hard process and only a few get selceted. tell me that if you were living in mexico poor as hell u applied to go to america but u got denied, you have a wife and children to take care of, you wouldnt run across the border either,,,, yes u would..... and please only mature adults respond, i do not wish to hear from retarted ignorant people and the only comments they have are sterotipical...and yes people mexicans pay taxes.... stop acting like mexicans just get handouts and take from us. because as i recall black people and sponge off the welfare system more than any race and yet these forums dont bash them like they do mexicans why is that?

My mother applied as a skilled worker, in 2004. At that time, I was 19, still under my father’s sponsorship, had just graduated college, and was applying as her dependant. Since submitting our papers, I have started working full time and even changed my sponsorship to my company’s in accordance with the local residency laws of my country. Just recently, the immigration authorities have asked for a status update and our lawyers mentioned that we should not show that I have been working since then, as I would not be considered her dependant. I want to go to Canada for my MBA, but I am unsure of what to do, as my last application form said that since 2004 I have been studying for my MBA entrance, and doing part time work, however the immigration authorities have seen my employment visa in my passport (as an ‘Accountant’) and now doubt the authenticity. They have now asked for an explanation regarding this discrepancy and we are very confused about what to do/say..would appreciate any info!

What about those Mexicans who have been here more than 15 years ago? What about those kids who came here when they were 1 year old or just a bit older? I'm not talking about the Mexicans that came here just one or two years ago. I'm talking about people who have made their life here in this country. Kids who have grown up learning the history and language of this country. What about them? Many of them even pay taxes, yes they do. What about them?

There are many minority groups that are calling for a moratorium on deportation. They are calling the dportation of thousands of criminal trespassers "racial profiling" and "ethnic cleansing". They want you to believe that the immigration and customs enforcement agency is abusing people without cause and tearing families apart for no reason.
This is the newest tactic to try and circumvent existing American immigration laws so that Americas borders remain a revolving door for criminals from many nations.
Do you think that this is proper? What can be done to combat this flagrant racial rhetoric?
