No, once you quit school your F1 visa is null and void.

I assume you want to live and work in the US, so converting your F1 to a tourist visa is probably not an option. Please note that once you quit school, your F1 status is revoked - you are now in the country illegally.

If you were not born in the US, there are limited ways you can stay here:

1) You get a job and the employer can submit a green card application for you.

2) You marry an American citizen and then apply for a green card. Note that if you marry someone within 60 days of entry, they will assume that you lied to gain entry into the country (by obtaining a student visa instead of a fiance visa) and may deny your green card application.

3) You can apply for political asylum (rarely granted).

4) You can enter the green card lottery.

5)Finally, if found to be living here illegally, you can fight deportation by hiring a lawyer.

Try reading "US Immigration Made Easy" by NOLO - they have some good immigration books, including one that specializes on how to get a green card. Go to www.nolo.com or more specifically, http://www.nolo.com/resource.cfm/catID/86F12C86-8753-405E-8A437DA6EE610EDA/118/209/

Good luck.

You can't do it. Having a student requires that you return to your home country after your studies are complete. If you want to come back to the US after quitting school, you will have to return to Egypt first and restart the whole immigration process.

There are ways to convert your status to a permanent resident by getting an H1B visa or marriage to a U.S. citizen, but you generally cannot adjust status here in the US from a student visa. You must go back to Egypt first.

well, here are the main things:
a F-1 visa can't just be converted into a different type of visa without you applying for (and being approved)one. and one of the requirements of the application is to complete your study. Even when you get your degree, you still have to do the practical training before you can apply for a new visa. I don't know if the international student office at your school ever gave you immigration info regarding visa status and other issues, but if you don't finish your study, you will be out of status therefore become illegal. All International students are monitored under the sevis system and as far as I know , they are pretty strict about it.
You need to speak to the international student office and get all the info you need regarding what you want to do next.

It isn't that easy. You can try to apply for a Change of Status to a work visa (H-1B) and then apply for Permanent Residency. You cannot apply for PR from an F-1 visa. However, an H-1B visa can have "dual intent" of immigrating. H-1B visa holders must have a MINIMUM of a Bachelor's degree (so if you haven't finished school, don't quit!).

You Will probably have to get an employer to sponsor you by giving you a job and then applying for a change of status through USCIS/Homeland Security. Or marry an American citizen and have them apply as your relative....I-485 is the form I think...
