Well let me give you a tip...you've been duped. Nothing gets past in congress without a lobby. So who lobbies congress for the poor...NO ONE! Who set up the welfare state...Here's a CLUE, it wasn't the poor. Here's the proof...Food stamps, who lobby for this program. Was it your advocates for the poor or was it the Food Industry. See, the trick with Washington is not follow the Sandwich in the food stamp program but follow the money. Your angershould be directed on people who are hoodwinking you so they can make a buck off of the welfare state. Do the trick with today's public housing policy...see if you can figure out who lobby for that passing.

Considering that many, many illegals pay taxes through tax id #'s & never hope to stand a chance of receiving medicaid, welfare, unemployment, food stamps or social security - regardless of how many years they pay taxes - I don't see how you are being robbed. Maybe you could explain in further detail how you are suffering in your personal life because of all these "anchor babies."
EDIT: Reply to MIS-informer (below me in more ways than one): I have lived this, have YOU? My husband came here legally & got a VALID SSN from our government stamped with "valid with INS authorization only" right on the front of it. He became "illegal" by over-staying his visa & continued paying taxes the entire time through the course of 10 years. Never once did he file for or receive ANY benefits from our government. He PAID INTO the system & NEVER received. Even now as a citizen with his own company he still pays a LOT of taxes & we have NEVER asked for public assistance. His family who are here the same way pay taxes into the system with their valid SSN's or tax id #'s. Ever notice the Clinicas popping up all around you? They go there for medical help. These businesses stay in business & grow & thrive because Spanish-speakers go there & pay cash - no insurance - for medical services. I know someone personally who made payments on the baby she had here to the total of $7000. You know NOTHING of which you speak. I have seen it personally with my own eyes. First-hand. Not read in a newspaper or heard it on the all-truthful news.

I think you should, yes. But only because it really seems to be the proverbial root of your evil.
