We have all broken the law at one time or another wether its speeding, loitering, littering, gotten drunk, drunk alcohol before 21, outside past curfew, jaywalking, or many other crimes.
We need to amend or change the laws in order to best serve us.
Imagine if the current amendments had never been created. Blacks would still be 2nd class citizens, women could not vote, alcohol would have never been illegal then legal.

Some laws are made to be broken. Not many people pay attention to parking or moving vehicle laws, yet we don't hate all people that break any law. Lets face it. Both sides have to give and take a little. We can't legalize all but we can't deport or encarcerate all of them either. The latter would tarnish the US image around the world even more. If some were legalized it would solve many problems. Americans had a large part in allowing this to happen so we can't just penalize one side. If a woman lets her husband beat her everyday than we can't blame only the husband.

Sounds like Canada has immigration problems as well.

If Americans demand cheap goods and illegal immigrants supply cheap labor to keep the cost of goods low, wouldn't deportation and stricter immigration laws interfere with supply/demand? And if we don't want illegal immigrants here because they depress wages, isn't that protectionism and limiting competition?

I'm not trying to spark a debate here or express an opinion one way or the other on illegal immigration. I just want to know if being anti-illegal immigration is the same thing as being anti-free market. Heck, maybe I don't even understand free market theory correctly.

Thoughtful, informed replies only, please.

Whatever you think about Jim Gilchrist, the man who founded The Minuteman Project, you've got to give him this: All signs indicate that his opposition to illegal immigration is an honestly held conviction.
That's one reason I'd listen to him speak. Here are two more: His convictions are shared by many Americans, and the organization he founded has transformed the immigration debate. A man like that can teach you something, whether you find his rhetoric as inspiring as the Sermon on the Mount or as wrongheaded as Hugo Chavez's speech to the United Nations.
Maybe what he teaches you is that illegal immigration really is a problem. Or maybe he teaches you to better understand Minutemen whose actions you vehemently oppose. Agree or disagree, he's an influential man and one who has thought a great deal about the immigration debate.

the rest could be read there, why cant they let him speak?or any other one talking for that matter?

Bush: You can't fence the entire border, but what you can do is, you can use a combination of fencing and technology to make it easier for the Border Patrol to enforce our border. I happen to believe, however, that, in order to make sure the border is fully secure, we need a guest worker program, so people aren't sneaking in, in the first place.*

even with a guest workers pass it still will not keep them, fence it all and shoot on site, thats my opinion

I have known people that were Hispanic and take some offence to being called Mexicans. Then I see people jumping on the pro-illegal bandwagon and they can't seem to seperate them.

Isn't it pretty stupid that thought??? It's obvious that Illegal Immigrants are not going to cross the border while someone is there (it does not matter if it's a biker or a cop or mickey mouse).
