I'm a white woman and I was teaching in an "urban" area. The principal made it very clear that I didn't belong there and how I should be teaching in a more appropriate setting...then I lost my job and didn't get a reference. You do the math.

Yeah, for the year and a half when I was the only white guy near Southcentral downtown Los Angeles (you know, where the riots happen when the people get fed up with LAPD killings and beatings and burn the city every 20 years). But I worked far away with long hours so I wasn't home a lot to worry about it. After all, I was the one who chose to buy a place there knowing I'd be the lone white guy. Discrimination isn't only about race; it can be your gender, religion, etc.

Well most certainly I have. I am married to a Hispanic I am White by skin color only. I don't see White as a race. When my husband & I are together I get the stares. I am bold. I stare back until they look down. My husband is the sweeter of us two. He would never say a harm word to anyone even in his own defense. I wouldn't either unless spoken to first. Usually the stare back causes them to just drop their heads to look down. My mother always taught me it was rude to stare.....so that is why I counter the stare with a stare .... to show no fear. These people that stare at us are the same ones that have not the guts to say anything to my face ... and are only Bold enough to be "CLOSET" racists in their homes and behind computer screens.

The racist card is used as a crutch in most cases. Not saying that refers to everyone. If you don't agree with someone Else's opinion then your a racist. If your white you are automatically a racist. Racist is the oldest misstated excuse in the world.
