Yes, in fact I have, I've met several and gotten to know them quite well. They're some of the nicest people I've ever come across, much nicer than most of the people around here. They're friendly, respectful, and very hard workers. And, believe it or not, they love their families, and have hopes and dreams, just like Americans do.
I'm glad you asked this question, because most people who are anti-illegal tend to judge Mexicans and illegal immigrants by what they read in the newspaper and see on TV. They've never actually met one before.
I agree that we can't let everyone in and we need to get some kind of control on illegal immigration, but there's no reason to treat them like they're animals, because they aren't. They deserve just as much respect as anyone else.

Of course there are illegals moving down from Canada. But Bush isn't worried because Canadians are (mostly) white like him. White folk wouldn't be terrorists, would they? Hmmm. That guy, Timothy McVeigh, must have been a mixed breed, huh? And where did we catch a terrorist attempting to smuggle explosives into the US on 12/14/1999? Port Angeles, Washington. Not Los Angeles, mind you. Not near the Mexican border. On the Canadian border. Do a google search for "Canada terrorist" and see what you find. Scary. Why are we concentrating on Mexicans? Terrorists know that we have two major borders and history shows that they aren't stupid. If you were a terrorist, where would you enter from? They read newspapers and watch CNN. Only a fool would enter from the South. The Canadians are good, trusting people with foreign and domestic terrorist cells. We should be looking North, too.

I know many illegal immigrants. In fact, in the job that I am entrusted with I see about 20 people a day with an average of 10 of them being illegal. I work in a non profit organization that is not funded by the government before some of you start screaming and crying about your tax payers dollars. I have only one problem with any immigrant that is illegal. It is one thing to break one law by being her illegally. I understand why that one has been broken....but I cannot excuse the DUI, Domestic Violence etc crimes which are committed. I am very outspoken about this in our community so I am not a behind your back, I am a in your face kind of person and the people respect me highly for the same. My mother taught me as long as you are in 'SOMEONE ELSE'S HOME" respect it.

I know quite a few people who are not here legally. Out of those who are here illegally, only one has commited a crime. And that crime was DUI. He paid $500 fine, went to 1 year of drug and alcohol classes and was on probabtion for a year. He also went to AA twice a week for that year, and now goes at least once a week. Since then he has not drank. So he paid his debt to society, and has learned his lesson.

All of the people that I know that have immigrated to the United States did so legally, and are p iss ed as hell at the ones that do so illegally. They think they are just some lazy disrespecting individuals looking for an easy payday (their terms and descriptions, not mine).
And FYI - 8 or so are "Latinos" that are here legally, so I hold their opinions in higher regards than those just spouting off.

Crossing the border illegally is enough. Nothing more needs to be said because once they cross that border illegally, in order to continue living in the USA, they have to be committing other crimes such as identity theft, driving without licenses and insurance, and lying to get other social benefits. No, crossing the border illegally is enough to affect me and all Americans and other legal residents of the USA because they cause our tax dollars to be spent on them while they are not contributing towards the tax system.

I know a few and I know many more that has been reported and deported. They are criminals. I could care less how hard they work or how hard they play. They are here illegally and they are breaking the law. Why don't all that think they are so great pay for the crimes they create and the legal taxes they fail to pay then we could all be happy.

Sure... but all the ones I've met haven't committed any crimes as far as I know. In fact, they work REALLY HARD & try to "lay low" so they can stay "UNDER the Radar Screen- & not attract any attention. Personally, -I wish MORE AMERICANS were so good at minding their own business. We seem to be alot better at "talking the talk- than walking the walk..."

I know of many and they are out working all day and too tired to go around committing crimes. I do see lots of so call Americans looking for them to hurt and make fun of them. I do see lots of Americans picking them up to work and I also see lots of them in church with their families on Sunday.
