The pro-illegals and anti-illegals keep going back and forth. I have seen the same arguments used many times. Have you seen any arguments that made you rethink your postition?

(or are all pro-illegal arguments bullsh*t?)

Assuming that every mexican is a "wet back," or every person from the middle east is a religous/terroist extremist is like assuming that every white male is a uni-bomber/pedophile or that every black person is good at basketball.
Just so you know.

Seriously, Building a WALL??? Who are we trying to keep out? The people who work on our farms/dairies? Who do our landscaping and build our houses?
It's gotten to the point that marines are out there building our walls. The marines would be more useful tracking down the people who cause trouble stateside, not keeping people out. I mean, if we're going to use the marines for something out of their job description, shouldn't it be for something more important. Like building houses for the people who suffered after Katrina. Why is it that immigration has become such an issue?
I think Bush is just trying to sidetrack us from the REAL issues.
And he's doing a fabulous job.

With the exception of going away to war, I’ve been on the New Mexico, Mexico border all my 57 years, my neighbors and I see the whole issue differently from most of you, are we entitled to our opinions. Would you have me and my peers come to your neighborhood and tell you how to deal with the problems we perceive as problematic without your input?

I mean, Statistics Canada reports that out of 250 000 immigrants to Canada, only 6500 are American. I find it ridiculous that we don't open the border to freely attract more American workers.

Do you work in the state employment agency for your state?

I do. And I deal with hundreds of people each week who are searching for a job. These are people who are willing to take unskilled jobs if necessary, but can't find them due to illegals who have taken these jobs.
One gentleman who comes to mind was a stone mason. He ran his own business for 20 years. Now he cannot bid low enough to get the jobs because the illegals will work for much less. They can do this because 20 will share a small apartment or trailer and can afford to work for so much less. He spent his life building the American dream only to have it taken by illegals who are stealing the American jobs.
Enzotiger gave the example of janitor as being a job US citizens won't do. Why do I have 30-40 applicants a month looking for custodial jobs? How about garbage collectors? Even more seekers for these jobs. Construction workers? Even more!
Don't tell me the US citizens won't do these jobs!!

Legals meaning legal Americans?

2006-09-27 05:39:29 · 1 answers · asked by Kate 2

So many people complain about illegal immigrants draining resources from tax monies that go to education and health care. Why aren't they getting upset at the richest 1% who get TAX CUTS left and right from the Bush admin.--not the middle class (those people complaining the most about immigration), who also are struggling to make ends meet. Rich people are the criminals--not the illegal immigrants! I guess everyone wants to be like those rich people one day, so it is easier to point the finger at brown people.
