Immigration - August 2006

...they are contributing to the problems that plague their homelands by leaving? If they are so resourceful to go on a potentially expensive adventure, then why not use that resourcefulness by helping create businesses and prosperity in their home country?

It may seem unfair that some countries are rich and some are poor, but life in the USA wasn't always easy - their forefathers worked hard to give them their current life. They even had a civil war, and didn't inundate other nations with refugees then. Now it's the poor nations' turn to work for themselves to better themselves just like the USA did for itself.

The immigration laws of the United States aren't exactly crystal clear on what is illegal or legal. It seems to me that most of the people who post in this category try to make it into a black or white issue, which simply isn't the case.
There seems to be much more of this simplistic thinking coming from the so-called "anti-illegal" faction, who seem wholly comprised of high school drop outs with the inability to form complex, rational thought.

I guess the point that I'm trying to impart is that you should think mor rationally before you start raving like a moron.

so my question is..
what do you think about apartment complexes?
who are they for?
how come nobody ever says APARTMENT TRASH?
they are just as trashy as some trailer parks if not trashier!!!

and how come those people aren't called racists when they say things about white trailer trash?

you ask ...what does this have to do with immigration ?? Illegal aliens live in trailer parks & apartment complexes.

Getting my eye examined and this guy in the same waiting room as me yanks the curtain open and would not stop talking to me. Me being the nice person I am talked back. Then he warned me not to tell the doctor anything because the hospital can have me commited. Then he started doing yoga on his bed and he made me a paper rose before I left. Should I be scared that he is going to stalk me? I told him where I worked before he started acting all wierd. I heard him tell the nurse he was there for anxiety and stress.

gov. groups called ice and image are starting major overhauls on illigeal activities.they figure employers are the ones who are making it possible for illegals to work and live in the u.s.a so they have a system up were employees can call on there own employers if they suspect illegal activity.without reprisal.the system works through data base that detects if you are legal or not.and empoyers are encouraged to join the data base so they will be in compliance with the law.or face stiff penalties.my question is do you think this is the best system for stoppin illegal activity?i mean if they cant work they cant stay? right? if not what other ways are better to deport?legally.

When one, from literally and land in the world, dreams about being; happy, not struggling with providing food or money for their family, being some one of importance to the world where to they envision living?
When you think of places of beautiful weather in which to live in and raise a family. (consistantly pleasant)
Where do people think of?
the answer to these questions create jeolousy and hate to people who are too undereducated to identify their feelings and do something to enpower themselves

Follow up question to a fairly common response I see on the "assimilation" issue in regards to the current immigration debate. Whereas, immigrants from previous times coming to the US seemed, in many cases, more likely and more willing to want to join mainstream American culture, I see defenders of today's immigrants that try to maintain as much as their traditional "heritage" and customs as possible while ignoring the larger American culture/society insist they do so because American culture is "morally bankrupt;" drugs, violence, gangs, sex, family breakdown are all issues that are pointed to as signs of immorality and decay of American culture that immigrants are said to find so "foreign" and offensive to their traditional ways of living. Any thoughts on this one way or the other?

Because, if they come here insearch for a better life. Should they stay in there country and fight to make it better. I mean they can come to the U.S and beg for better immigration laws and such, but they can't stay home and try to estabalize their economy. But then I can understand people that scape from N. Korea or other countries where tyrants rule. Well this is my curiosity, excuse me if I sound racist, or my grammar lacks correction.

"NEW ORLEANS The U-S Immigration and Customs Enforcement said today that they deported 758 immigrants in July from Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.

Immigration officials say the immigrants were deported for crimes like drug possession and distribution, assault on a police officer, aggravated assault, attempted murder and rape. The immigrants came from Mexico, Colombia, Haiti, Nigeria, Slovakia and Lebanon."

It still is only a fraction of those criminally convicted each month, but maybe they were busy in the other 45 states, too.

What do you think?

Does anyone have any knowledge about the immigration law? The INS will not allow his wife to come to this country at all. Now he has to hire an attorney to fight this. They won't even put her on the waiting list. Is there some problem the U.S. has with Mexico besides the illegal immigrants?

I'm the alien fiancee and my fiance is the USC. When I was 18 I stupidly got married to a man in Tanzania. Only now (5 years later) have we finally got divorced (long story - havent seen him or been with him for those 5 years) and in November me and my fiance will be applying for my K1 visa. We have been together for 2 years and have a strong case. The question I have is what evidence do we have to submit that my previous marriage is over? Because of the way the government is ruled etc in Tanzania we managed to get our official divorce in 20 days and have the certificate and everything to prove this - both muslim divorce and government divorce. Will the immigration officials accept this divorce certificate as proof? The system there is different and no Divorce Decree is required there. Do you think this will cause some problems and what can i do about them? I'm a UK citizen. Thank you - i'm so worried about this and do not want anything to make the application any longer than it is!!
