I think they are horrible because the legal immigration laws are even worse. For example if someone is in america and they apply for an extension on their visas they sometimes do not know if their visas run out and they are waiting for an answer they are rejected and told they are illgals. They are then deported and cannot comeback. I think the legal immigration laws need to be changed so effectively have illegal immigration laws, if now then it will be always be one sided. This is why I think many illegals do not go through legal channels because its crap. I think the INS system should be on a local state level and be able to control them better. My teacher's husband records were lost from Iran and they had to go to the senator to appeal.

I think that the laws need some serious help. People who want to come in legally can't because of all the red tape. But at the same time our gov. apparently doesn't care that they can just walk over. Apparently its better if they're undocumented. I don't understand. There is no way to really report an undocumented worker. The felons, gang-members, and terrorists run free while making a horrible reputation for all the others that are just looking for a better life. Our laws need help. Our borders (both sides) need help.

How quickly we forget that this is a nation of immigrants and that the original immigrants used steel and gunpowder to just take this land for their own. Then those same immigrants wrote their law making immigration here a legal issue.
Illegal immigrants are here because they are victims of their own government. They are exploited by those who bring them here illegally, and will continue to be exploited by those who give them work in order to pay those who brought them here.
If it is true that our government is too generous with the social aid and benefits, then how is that the fault of the illegal immigrant?
Immigration laws need to be reformed so that no one is exploited, everyone pays their fair share of taxes, and we are aware of who is here.

I think the point of America was to be a melting pot, where all peoples could come and make a better life. If these people want to become American citizens they should be able to. Then, people will have no reason to deport them because they pay taxes... The only arguement against it is that they take American's jobs, which I believe to be completely untrue, as buisness are out to make money, and if workers accept less pay, they will get the job, wheter they are legal citizens or not.

The laws that we already have need to be enforced first and foremost. I have a real problem with ppl that refer to illegals as "undocumented workers". What part of ILLEGAL do they not understand. Enforce immigration laws and deal with the problem, don't try to appease it(illegals).

Actually, I think that our laws are good one's. The problem is enforcement of those laws. We have very fair and just immigration, we just have a government that is refusing to do their job.

I live near Portland Oregon. I have yet to see a 7/11 store owned by an American. The owners are either Chinese or Arab. The Chinese build their very own little China communities.Americans can visit the shops, eat the food spend American dollars there, but they are not welcome to live there. In those communities they speak Chinese, not English. Those living in the communities work and the majority of the American dollars are sent to China to support the families they left behind.I have not seen any complaints about them? Our gov.give the Chinese and Vietnamese gov grants to open their own stores and or business.their profits are sent back to their country of origin.

Are you talking about our laws in Ireland?
Or American laws?
Irish law is a bit of a shambles is this area, particularly when it comes to keeping track of illegals denied asylum. Then again we don't border any poor countries so it's not as big a problem.

Unfortuantly i don't think there are any laws. In the UK we let everyone in and i mean everyone, Why?? because we are scared to refuse them in case they call us racist. They come to OUR country abuse OUR religions, Abuse OUR laws, Abuse OUR residents, get FREE houses that WE are paying taxes for, FREE food vouchers agian that we are paying for. We have to earn a living by going to work yet they come here for free and live for free. Where is the justice in that. LAW our country doesn't know the meaning of the word.
Well i feel better now i've got that off my chest. lol

They should have been enforced from day one, and laws intentionally giving benefits to people illegally here, beyond emergency services should be repealed. They undermine the laws and act as magnets.
