gov. groups called ice and image are starting major overhauls on illigeal activities.they figure employers are the ones who are making it possible for illegals to work and live in the u.s.a so they have a system up were employees can call on there own employers if they suspect illegal activity.without reprisal.the system works through data base that detects if you are legal or not.and empoyers are encouraged to join the data base so they will be in compliance with the law.or face stiff penalties.my question is do you think this is the best system for stoppin illegal activity?i mean if they cant work they cant stay? right? if not what other ways are better to deport?legally.

It´s a step in the right direction. If you cut the demand, the supply will have no choice but to turn around and go back.

"Hazelton, PA experienced an obvious jump in illegal immigrants who were drawn to the area by meat processing factories. The city cited increases in crime rates, more gang activity, higher spending on bilingual ed at public schools, health care and various other expenses with no offsetting rise in tax revenues." Sounds like pro-illegal propaganda is incorrect and anti-illegal facts are true. A giant step in the right direction.

well, it would mean the downfall of many small businesses in this country. small businesses (such as restaurants and small production shops) have tremendous difficulty keeping afloat with the current labor situation, and they depend on immigrants who are willing to do the work and do it for cheap.

if you're ok with so many small businesses failing and the complete take over of massive corporations, then that's fine. i think there must be a better solution.

just a reminder that since 1996 the majority of illegal immigrants use legitimate tax id#'s to pay taxes. they don't have to use stolen or fake ss#'s anymore.

won't work sorry. in my country (uk) we are swamped with illegal immigrants and there are plenty of employers willing to take them on because they're cheap and too scared to complain about being mistreated. many of these are working on the blackmarket so are outside working regulations. also many illegals simply work for family members who are unlikely to inform the authorities. not to mention the thousands who make money through crime.
The best way is random checks on buisnesses and heavy penalties. also send a copy of the jobholders application form and refernces to the immigration dept for checking

I think its a good idea, in theory. I'm afraid that illegals will try to start making money illegally (as if they're not already). They need to figure something out... I hate paying for other peoples actions.

Seems like a reasonable of logical approach to me. It might take a little longer this way, but it might be the most effective. Dry up the incentives (jobs and welfare) and there is no longer a reason to come.

It is a start.
Look how many ILLEGALS has stole some one ID?
Look how many ILLEGALS are here and working with someones ID.
But that doesn't' stop them form staying. The Illegals will find a different job, IN a different town.
