Because, if they come here insearch for a better life. Should they stay in there country and fight to make it better. I mean they can come to the U.S and beg for better immigration laws and such, but they can't stay home and try to estabalize their economy. But then I can understand people that scape from N. Korea or other countries where tyrants rule. Well this is my curiosity, excuse me if I sound racist, or my grammar lacks correction.

Well you see, like I'm saying, this whole world is one big market, the economic failure of one country damages the other. People abandone their countries, damaging there economy more and more. Also illegal immigrants do become legal, but they screw up our society in the process, since more and more and more come in every daying day.

Immigrants are good and bad. Since they do help our society by renting houses and buying food and clothes from the stores.

Ok - sorry if this is not PC. If people really want to be here since we are such a "better" place then do it like all the other immigrants did it way back when. They had Ellis Island for a reason. Yes, we are a melting pot. Those people got to be Americans from other countries and wanted to follow are laws. And be legal. Those who are here illegally and still want rights are insane. I don't have a problem with people wanting to be here but do it legally and follow the laws or guess what we will end up like the place you left!

Legal immigrants, YES. They're the immigrants coming for a better life. The US accepts 220,000 new legal immigrants per year. The US also allows tens of thousands every year claiming political asylum.

Illegal aliens, NO. I know many, asked them why they came to the US, none have ever said "they came for a better life". Very Few, "better opportunity". It's usually "just here to work or for a better job".
All, including those supposedly "just" here to work, conveniently have also "just had kids in the US too". Approximately 2-4 million illegal aliens enter every year. Every child born in the US, is a US citizen, guaranteed by the Constitution. The Legal guardians of any US born citizen, cannot be forced to leave the US.

I am a resident alien - a legal one. Yes, immigrants belong here. The U.S. are a country of immigrants after all. However, the problem of illegal immigration is out of control here. The reason for this is GREED, PROFIT,... .These days Hispanic immigrants aren't even required to learn English anymore. Instead, everybody already here is more or less in a situation where we have to learn Spanish. Can't miss out on a customer, right? I wonder what language would be spoken here now, had this mentality ruled when the immigrants who built this country arrived. German? Swedish? Polish? Italian? Goodness,...how did these people manage to learn English???

Who says immigrants don't belong here? This is a nation of immigrants. How quickly we forget that the original immigrants used steel and gunpowder to take the land from the Natives. Then those same immigrants who 'just took this land for their own' wrote their law making immigration here a legal issue.

The real problem is that our own government is too generous with the social aid and benefits. For this blame our government, not the illegal immigrant.

If our government were to force employers to:

A. Not hire illegals (but see what happened in Nevada with the meat packing industry),

B. Pay the minimum wage w/benefits regardless of immigration status.

C. Pass legislature that will stop social aid to illegals (but don't cry if it stops for everyone).

If our government were to do this, guess what, the problem would end.

Sure, immigrants do belong in the US, as long as they do it legally. And please stop with the whole, "if your not american indian, you are an immigrant too" argument, its like beating a dead horse already. I do agree, millions of people seemingly wish to come the US, but at the same time, its the same people that say the US is evil, the US is the real terrorist and the like. What drove me nuts was when the illegal immigrants had their protests in the US. If only they had done that in their own country, maybe their country would be worth fighting for, maybe it would be great one day too, but that is just my opinion. I have no problem with immigrants, as long as they do it properly, learn the language and pay taxes and are proud of being american. Its time for all of us to be proud to be american.

I'll answer with another question, Do you belong here? Your last name is hispanic and I don't think you are a native american, Are you?The U. S. is a nation of immigrants. We let undocumented aliens to come when we need their cheap labor. Then politician use them as escape goats and to divert attention from more serious issues. There are a lot of bigots like the christian Psycho Julie who jumps to the wagon and speak without foundation. A christian who does not act like Christ? Minutemen and proud? All act upon the tip of the iceberg, and no one realizes that they're just devils' puppet. The truth will make you free. I'm the alpha and omega...but you don't want to beleive just keep following your wise reasoning and forget about love. Seek love, love everyone, especially those you dislike. Tough ah? Well keep doing the easy, the convenient, but don't be sorry for the outcome!Want to make a difference then search for real, true love, who teaches it, who gives it unconditionally, what it really means. Then begin changing the world, begining by changing you.

No, i'm sorry, they don't belong here, well at least not anymore, think about all the problems we have going on right now because of the overpopulation, they come here take our jobs, then they don't adapt to our laws, and in a few decades i'm gonna have to speak spanish 25% of the time to get around,

i'm sorry but the "give me your tired, your poor and your hungry" should be replaced with "NO VACANCY"

i'm not a racist, but if you look at the statistics of everything you'll come to realize that we can't take anymore, for instance, did you know that out of all the drunken driving accidents in the U.S. in a given year 23% of them are hispanic males aged 19-24 and didn't speak english, and 70% of those accidents were fatal, so they come here don't abide by our laws, kill off innocent people and then *****, piss, and moan about better rights, i'm sorry but no, immigration should be stopped

by the way i was nearly killed 2 months ago by a drunken hispanic without insurance, he decided to pass someone in a no passing zone and hit me head on, but that's besides the point

I think those that come in accordance with our laws, including our limits on how many can come, are great. Our limits are supposed to protect our schools and services.

Those that come beyond that number are budget busters who drive down education and health care standards and drain funds for services needed for our own people.

Asylum is a different issue, and if the need is legitimate, those people are legally here.

As to the problems in their countries, I agree they will stay dysfunctional if they never have to face the consequence of bad action because the poor run off to have another country pay for their education and services. However, it really isn't our responsibility to deal with that.

We give foreign aid, and have all sorts of reasons for deciding where to give it. We have given a ton to Mexico, for example. And yet the majority of the population there, by polls, dislikes us. We need to give aid based on our own criteria, and not based on the demands of those who want to have us pay for them.

I think that it is fine that "legal" immigrants come to our country. If they are registered immigrants that work, pay taxes and lead honest life's.....that is what this country is all about. It is the illegal immigrants that have to go. The are draining our economy and bitching about "our" laws. That's right OUR laws. American laws.
