Immigration - June 2006

I was under the impression that the responsibility for reporting taxes was on the shoulders of small business, not the workers themselves. Furthermore, I know at least some of the workers in question have definitely paid their taxes....many for benefits they cannot use like Social Security. What are the statistics here? No one seems to talk in terms of actual numbers anymore. I just hear a bunch of people mad about things that may or may not be true. Shouldn't we analyze real facts before we do anything?

Or should all documents be in English only. The applicant would be responsible for the interpreter. NO Spanish or French either.
If one language is available all must be available. If not that is discrimination.

Think about that the next time you are at Walmart and see them walking around with those blank expressins on their stupid faces(and their kids behaving like little diablos) and they are coughing and gagging. And I bet you thought those terrorists and their anthrax were the real culprits. Remember there is strength in our diversity. Kiss an illegal alien and have a very nice day.

Not just the borders, we need minutemen chapters in every city.
eir They certify buisnesses and put thier logo on their doors and parking lots.
A business signs up voluntarily; allows records of the employees, their social security numbers and payrolls to be checked by minutemen; and agrees to 'surprise' visits where the minutemen - without arms - go to the buisness park outside each exit without apprihanding anyone -just to monitor that no one is sneaking out, and then make sure that all employees working are actually legal residents and are pair on roster and not under the table.
When I go to a town and there are two buisnesses (Motels for example) on the same road, and one of them has minutemen logo and the other does not, I would prefer to give my business to the one WITH LOGO even if more expensive.
It has all got to be voluntary - employers, the employees, the customers. No force, no guns. Just the benefit of Americans spending money at businesses they know to hire legal workers.

I asked a similar question before but didn't get a good answer on how it is supposed to work. Or whether it will work. I'm really trying to be open-minded about this.

I have an interview for citizenship next month but i lost my green card and passport which the INS require me to bring. What should I do? When I had my appointment for fingerprinting, I also didn't have my green card and passport. I only had my driver's license and police report for lost document, and they accepted me.Now I have my appointment for interview, should I renew my green card or should I just bring my police report as an evidence that I lost my green card and passport?

I mean, in the name of human rights. Illegal immigration is the new slavery - WAY-sub-minimum wage, no benefits, no rights. Why would anyone oppose stopping this? What wrong with a work-visa program? Immigrants would get proper wages, and benefits, and access to public programs, and could go to the police without fear if they are robbed. I don't see why opposition to illegal immigration is coming from the right instead of the left. I'd say there will be a time people are ashamed they weren't against illegal immigration in the name of human rights - this will be another dark point in our history.

With all the controversy about the Senate's immigration 'reform'(read enablement) bill, do you think our Senators really understand that the overwhelming majority of americans don't like the idea of our cities and communities being overrun with out-of-control immigration?

Apparently in this part of the Rio Grande on the first illegal crossing they arrest the illegal for a federal misdemeaner and sentence them to 15 days before deporting them. On a second crossing they will be sentenced to up to two years in prison.

Apparently there are a lot fewer people crossing there than previously. What do you think? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/06/17/AR2006061700455.html?nav=rss_nation

when immigrants come to our country do they not have to adapt to our way of life? We in turn have to cater to them as to not offend anyone. If they so want to be here shouldn't they atleast make the effort to embrace our way of life? If I were to relocate to their country I'm sure that would be expected from me, does anyone agree or disagree opinions please..

I don't see why it should be an issue at all. They broke the law. That's why it's called "illegal", believe it or not. Why do they just come into this country and demand rights and privilages that US citizens have? Why can't they just go through the same process that everyone else does to become a citizen. But oh no, forget the right way. I have no problem with immigrants that come here by means that are actually what they are supposed to do.
