I mean, in the name of human rights. Illegal immigration is the new slavery - WAY-sub-minimum wage, no benefits, no rights. Why would anyone oppose stopping this? What wrong with a work-visa program? Immigrants would get proper wages, and benefits, and access to public programs, and could go to the police without fear if they are robbed. I don't see why opposition to illegal immigration is coming from the right instead of the left. I'd say there will be a time people are ashamed they weren't against illegal immigration in the name of human rights - this will be another dark point in our history.

I agree, particularly when you look at the fact that Che and Cesar Chavez were against illegal immigration for driving down a 'living wage'.

However, while I would support an appropriate immigration program (to my mind) if you say you support a work visa program you are being taken as supporting the Senate Bill, which is really terrible. I don't think immigration should flood our schools legally OR illegally.

However, if it really could be temporary, and for the workers only (or else putting a quota limit on family as well, not making that 'above the limit') I'd think that is ok. However, you have to look at total numbers, and on top of the illegal immigrants already here, I think right now increasing immigration rates would be a bad idea. I think since the illegals are already here we should look at screening them, and scrap the guest worker program for now.

We need border security and employer enforcement, and need to dismantle the huge web of benefits to illegals that serves as a magnet to bring them across the border. Until that is done, any increase in legal immigration will be on top of continuing illegal immigration.

Supporting Illegal immigration is the same as Supporting Slavery. I've been stating this for months, I'm glad someone else finally takes a look down the road & can see the chance of severe damage to the lives of both illegals and American Citizens.

Now ask, "what political party freed slaves and what political party did slave owners belong to?
"What was the "Economic" reason, Slave owners used, as an excuse for Slavery?" They needed cheap slave labor inorder to keep the price of cotton, low. What is a recuring theme Democrats voice as a reason the US needs the illegals... "they are doing the jobs Americans won't do(bullshitz, Am-Mex kids born here are doing those jobs too, they are Americans). More importantly, Democrats spread the fear of $20 fruit, illegals keep the price of fruit low, just as the slaves kept cotton prices low.

Making a $1mil/yr in 2006, was like making $100,000 a year in 1806. Making $7hr in 2006, had to be damn close to making $0hr in 1806. Farms are the new plantations, illegal immigrants-their kids-and grandkids, will be the new Slaves, here to do the low skilled jobs.

Blacks and Whites haven't fully healed from our country's history, even though none of us were around during slavery, we have no choice but to deal with it. We can make life in America better or we can make it worse. Giving amnesty to illegals, because some illegal-mexicans work hard, will be devistating to race relations in America. There is a growing resentment in the American-Mexican kids born here. When Democrats say "illegals are doing the jobs Americans won't do", they are saying 1 of 2 things to those kids doing "those jobs", it's either, "We don't consider you(american-mexican) Americans" or worse "illegals are doing the jobs "white" Americans won't do."

Making them go back to Mexico sucks, but it would be the best thing for them. Imagine 12 million illegal-mexicans returning to Mexico, taking the political knowledge learned here and making some real changes in the Mexican government. That would really be something Mexicans could take pride in.

The 1986 Amnesty is taken under consideration as a catastophic failure, replaced into ripe with fraud and did no longer some thing to curtail unlawful immigration. Amnesty and the dream act are lifeless as door nails. Why because goverment is chatting with professional unlawful communities. Thats what they're going to do communicate with them yet no longer some thing will ever be performed. a million) Amnesty would fee over 2.8 trillion money 2) the advantages of illegals (as they declare) are decrease expenses for agriculture and different agency that employ them it quite is handed on. this can disapear with amnesty. 3) Amnesty would provide get proper of entry to to welfare classes that are already strained. 4) 87% of people are adverse to amnesty. Face it, health care reform is wanted by ability of the overall public of people and that is having worry passing. all the march on the twenty first will do in anger individuals and it really is going to positioned the amnesty reason again one hundred years.

You have a good point... It's a serious dilemma for me, but the reason I feel like supporting it, or rather "defending" illegal immigrations is due to the way many people come to the conclusion, "Oh they are illegal, send them back." Not many people care to consider the consequences and it just wouldn't be right to let those type of people win. All this racism... oh it depresses me.

Human rights is one thing. Breaking the law to be here is another. What about our human rights? What about the rights of those that are here legally? If someone is breaking the law to be here then their butt should be deported. They should not be entitled to have us pay for them. They should not be able to use our schools, etc. They are breaking the law so why reward them? Local police should have the right to arrest and deport illegals since the Border Patrol and INS obviously aren't doing their jobs.

because of a lack of understanding of the issue at hand, combined with a desire to do well by thier fellow man, simply put.

The same reason why we give homeless bums on the street money, because it makes us feel generous and less guilty for owning the legal possessions we have. Rather than consider for a moment the fact that there is government housing, government food stamps, government welfare, government job placement, governmend medicare and free 9-11 care, welfare checks, homeless shelters, private secular charities and food drives, churches and faith based charities, drug detox facilities, and countless jobs available, as well as additional welfare for the disabled... people will give more aid to the bum, who will use it for beer and drugs, or to buy a weapon and rob someone.

Much like aid to Africa, which goes overwhelmingly to the corrupt government militias who use charitable monies to strengthen thier hold over thier subjects through the purchase of weapons and to fund thier political agendas, rather than to the enslaved and impoverished people.

To give amnesty to illegals is to mean well but create disaster.

To give Katrina emergency aid in the form of debit cards is to create a system where Joe Jackson can buy beer and drugs and plasma screen tv's (documented proof of such abuses) with your hard earned tax dollar, without your consent or approval.

To give illegals the ability to live here or continue invading our country is to ignore the 50+% illegal immigrant population in California's prison system, the 30+% nationwide figure, and the drain on our schools, hospitals, and welfare programs, as well as the number of rapes and murders committed by illegal residents entirely disporportionate to the rest of the general population. To give them the vote is to allow Mexico to usurp our laws simply by allowing Mexican citizens the ability to vote in our national elections. To give illegals the vote is to allow the Chinese Mafia to bring more Chinese patriots here to subvert our system and create a Maoist Republic.

But then again... most hug a tree types live in a fantasy world where everyone can get along. It's all the conservatives' fault for pointing out historical, current, and scientific fact, as well as having an enlightened opinion.

Bring on the "WAR IS NOT ENLIGHTENED" crowd. So very predictable. Having a good heart is not enough. A rational mind is also required. But then again, it's pointless to try and create a dialogue with the "Bush is Hitler" crowd. All they can do is parrot MoveOn.org propaganda.

it's too bad that the illegals can get help but not the working person. If I lose my job or laid off for a period of time, I'm NOT eligible for help. but if I say: "me an illegal"; I'll get everything and the sun!

Because they are ignorant of the long term repercussions of the issue. Because they have no stake in this countries sovereignity. Because they are trying to bring down this countries democratic system and replace it with a global economic, free trade system. Because they are "illegals" themselves, or are romantically involved with an illegal. Because they take as gospel the liberal drivel thats being shoved down our throats in the media. because they are traitors to this country. because they hate America. ..................., Want me to go on?
