I don't see why it should be an issue at all. They broke the law. That's why it's called "illegal", believe it or not. Why do they just come into this country and demand rights and privilages that US citizens have? Why can't they just go through the same process that everyone else does to become a citizen. But oh no, forget the right way. I have no problem with immigrants that come here by means that are actually what they are supposed to do.

I mean, I'm not just saying this because I'm an American citizen. Honestly, I'm not. It just blows me away to think that why in the WORLD do the ILLEGAL immigrants get upset with the US government because they won't give them what they want, most of the time for free. Everyone else has to work for what they want/need/have, so why not them? And what gives them the right to be angry when they are the ones breaking the law in the first place??

I agree. Illegal Immigrants should be deported-- They come here by committing a crime a country that they "love". Then they get mad at the govetrnment and protest with Mexican flags. I just feel they love Mexico more than america and they are only here to leach off of our government (which they are)

The issue is only important because Bush obviouly needs us to stop looking at the other messes he is involved with. His support drops so he focuses our attention on a fictional "real" problem. Hitler used the Jews the same way... scapegoat and divert. 99% of the people in America are descended from immigrants, and ask any Native American how many people originally fleeing from other countries requested permission to come here. Being born in America is a random thing we just get handed to us because someone else already did all the difficult work for us, but these "illegal" people are willing to earn their place here and sacrifice everything to simply have the chance at a better life... so which is worse, whiny Americans too selfish to help anyone else, or people willing work for almost nothing to just to be here? Modern America has become what it used to fight against... I mean Bush can spend billions killing over 30, 000 unarmed civilians in a country halfway around the world and that's OK, but spend anything at all to help somone eat and people get offended. So let's rebuild the Berlin Wall across our border -- it will only cost 1000 times more to construct it, gaurd it, and repair it than it would be to simply help the people who need help, but at least we would prove we could shake our powerful asses in their direction without a second thought as what the real "right" thing to do really is.

Do you know what it costs to become a LEGAL resident of the United States? Thousands of dollars. I'm not talking about getting a green card and working a job part time and then coming back to Mexico, I'm saying... actually applying at the immigration department, and waiting..not to mention it takes up to 10 years to even get an answer. You all need to read up on your facts. Would you want to wait 10 years to get citizenship, would your kids wait 10 years to eat, because you couldn't get decent money in the country you're living in? They come here for the money. Not to take over our jobs, homes, and land. Get a clue.

Frankly, I could care less. If we become a minority, so be it. Mexicans work harder, and longer than any white folk. I'm white, and I'll tell you what, I wouldn't do half the jobs that mexicans do, for 3 bucks an hour. If you want something done, and DONE right, and not half-assed, then hire a mexican. They are always on time, they always put in more than required, and they always do a great job. Of course there's very few of them, that don't do a good job.. which is like a good portion of americans ( unemployment line is proof enough ). The way I look at it is.. If we can send troops over to IRAQ to make their government more civilized and feed other countries, etc... and all the lovely things we do for 3rd world countries, then by god we should go over to Mexico, and assist them with getting the mexican residents in mexico higher paying jobs. Their jobs over there suck. That's why they all come here. We pay 9,10,11, 12 dollars an hour. If they paid more an hour over in Mexico, we wouldn't have them crossing our borders.

I oppose both the illegal aliens and their employers. Both are in the wrong. My husband would not hire illegal aliens in his business, but then, he doesn't have them attempting to get hired since most of his employees are former law enforcement officers. However, my cousin and I own/operate two large farms. We do have illegal aliens turn up wanting jobs and they are sometimes belligerent when turned away. We have had vandalism to vehicles done by them. Our farms are well-known in the areas to pay well and we don't have any trouble hiring local people. They are profitable as well. So there goes the myth Americans won't take the jobs. A friend owns a restaurant and had to call the police when illegal aliens were demanding to be hired and refused to leave when she told them to go away. There are too many incentives to be here illegally. They get citizenship for the children they have here, draw welfare on those children, use ER's like they are free clinics, get free education for their illegal alien children as well. But, ultimately, the blame should go to the root of the problem and that is the standard of living and wages in their home nations.

well, first of all I don't know why people are trippin' about illegals...yeah i agree they got the jobs...that americans are too shallow to do!! and just for you guys to know a lot of these people are ignorant. they don't know how to start the paperwork to become legal...a lot need the money to do it...i mean that takes a lot of money and time...they are all here for one reason...to work for their family needs. and people like americans don't understand...why??because they are selfish or they just go along with the bunch of racist people, critics, and so on. immigrants are the ones who make this country...not a bunch of lazy americans...because you all know that americans are only good to boss people around...and guess who they boss around??immigrants...and who does their dirty work??immigrants...and tell me who will do their work when they leave??americans????please!!! so why don't you people just stop your crap and give others an oppurtunity to stay in this country and have a chance to start their legal proccess?? those who are trouble like criminals, murderers and druggies..yeah they should be banished from this country..yeah immigrating is against the law...but i will say not if you're doing it for their family and love ones...and besides then if immigrating is a crime..then our family that immigrated and came here illegaly are also considered criminals??well, am sure they had a good reason to come...right?? maybe it was just the faith and will of becoming someone...for their families, and themselves...

I am not defending them by any means, but some of them do come over here on visa's and just let them run out... This is a touchy subject with some people, but I agree that it should be done the legal way, what would mexico do if American's were sneaking into their country looking for jobs, not paying taxes, and sending the money back to America??

I would like to add for MR Random Guy, that there are thousands of illegal immigrants crossing over just the texas mexico border every day, try a day in one city just pick one, and tell me the guys you see walking down the street, mowing grass, roofing, working construction, and much much more are legal. just tell me that 9 out of 10 are legal, I very much beg to differ. you can't even talk to most of them with out knowing spanish, BTW I almost hit one who was standing in the middle of the highway at 430 in the morning, who was working construction, and when i stopped to tell him that i could not see him, he couldn't understand i was trying to save him from getting hit. We have a national language for a reason and its not just for grins and giggles.

OK another thing to those of you who think Americans are too selfish to work the jobs the Illegal's work. that is very very humorous because I see plenty of White, and Blacks out there busting their butts in the same exact field!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT ONE THING IS DIFFERENT, THERE ARE TAXES COMING OUT OF THEIR PAY, AND THE SO CALLED "LAZY" AMERICAN YOU ARE SPEAKING OF, IS MAKING LESS MONEY THAN THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT WHO IS SENDING THE MONEY DIRECTLY OUT OF OUR COUNTRY. SO REALIZE WHO IS DOING THE DAMAGE HERE!!

I think it's more of an issue for the people that hire them. They are breaking the law worse than the illegals. Illegals are not citizens, it is not their law. It is for the companies. Increase the penalties for the people that hire them. If you stop leaving the bird seed out, the birds will stop coming.

Most U.S. citizens are against illegal aliens. We want them to go home and apply to come back here legally. We are tired of the drain on the system and the illegal continuing to break our laws.

they don't demmand the rights, theyre just here because they are looking for jobs. they don't really get the rigths and priviledges. don't get into taxes because when they work, income is taken from their salary. and if you are legal you get it back. but illegals don't get it back and then the goverment keeps the money. it's a lot of money coming from the illegal immigrants. and they don't know that you have to go through a process: passport, visa and all that. and if somebody tells you where he is from, but does not mention he is mexican, (from salvador, bolivia, guatemala, so on) 9 times out of 10 he is not illegal just so you know.

You have a good point. We need to shut down the border ASAP and start to implement a plan for the illegals that are here. Deport most or some of them at least.
